 Our own Top 10 Thread
There's a thread for the top 10 shows of 2006 for the critics, but we should have one for ourselves.
Of the ones I watch (or watched) regularly in 2006:
1. Grey's Anatomy (ABC)
2. 24 (Fox)
3. Lost (ABC)
4. Heroes (NBC)
5. Ugly Betty (ABC)
6. How I Met Your Mother (CBS)
7. Desperate Housewives (ABC)
8. House (Fox)
9. Survivor: Cook Islands (CBS)
10. The Amazing Race 10 (CBS)
Narrowly missing the list: Entourage (HBO), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC), The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS), Two and a Half Men (CBS), Brothers & Sisters (ABC), American Idol (Fox)

I really lost interest in a lot of television this year, so it's only a top five list for me.
05. House (Fox)
04. 24 (Fox)
03. Dexter (Showtime)
02. Battlestar Galactica (SciFi)
01. The Office (NBC)

No VM? (And, yes, I know you're not completely happy with it, but surely it rates higher than House.)

It was between House and VM, and since it's of 2006 I gave the edge to House's 2.5 and 3.0 over VM 2.5 and 3.0.

I didn't even watch 10 shows this year, as there's really not a lot worth watching.
Here's the 6 shows that I actually watch, in alphabetical order.
CSI
Dexter
Entourage
The Office
Weeds
I did also see every episode of Veronica Mars, but just because I was taping it for a friend. I have seen all of S1 and a few eps in S2, color me unimpressed. I do wonder frequently if the brass behind Veronica Mars actually have any idea what the term "regular" means.
Anyway, I was going to also watch Scrubs, but it was on opposite CSI and I had to make a choice, so I chose. I do plan on picking up the DVDs when they come out, though.
Lost used to be on the list, but as for most of last year it just made me mad and it was a chore to watch it, I decided to give it the first few eps this season to win me over again. It didn't.
I have been hearing a lot of good things about 30 Rock lately, so I may just give that a chance next season, if it's still around.

1. Scrubs
2. Extras
3. The Office
4. Huff
5. Weeds
The fifth season of Scrubs (its second half, in particular) was its best yet.
I guess I can't really include Extras, as its second season won't premiere on HBO till mid-January, but I'm going to anyway; it is now, without a doubt, one of the funniest shows on TV.
While The Office hasn't been up-to-par this season, in my opinion, the second half of its brilliant second season did air in 2006 and included Casino Night, which pretty much alone puts it in my top 5.
Dearly departed Huff was, at the time it aired this summer, the best drama on TV.
And Weeds remains one of TV's most watchable shows for me (I still have to finish the second season, though).

I can safely say that after the end of Alias i pretty much stopped watching televised drama. I really have little / no interest in it at all now.
I plan to start watching Season 3 of Desperate Housewives when it starts here Wednesday and of course Betty The Ugly which starts on the 5th.

Nice idea for a thread. Many tv lovers here, so think it deserves to be stickied.
Anyway...
01 24 (fantastic season, A+ would be the grade)
02 Dexter (B)
03 Battlestar Galactica (B-, not really happy with second part of second season, and with third so far)
04 Veronica Mars (C+)
05 Heroes (C)
06 Lost (D-, it's almost awful)
07 Jericho (and this one is awful, worst show I've seen in quite some time, strong F)

This year definitely wasn't the year for drama. For me, at least.
I liked the first season of Big Love. Didn't love it, though. I didn't watch Lost at all this season; I'd like to catch up, I just... can't muster the energy. Only saw a few episodes of Veronica Mars this season but wasn't that impressed. Gilmore Girls has been good but not great. I'm a fan of Brothers & Sisters, but I think the show still has problems. I pretty much watch Grey's Anatomy weekly now, but I still think it's overrated...
Sigh.
I guess a possible saving grace may be Dexter, but I'm only on the third episode.
I need to start The Wire some time soon.

I have to revive my list a bit, to accomodate Rescue Me and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
10. Dexter
9. Prison Break
8. Weeds
7. Lost
6. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
5. Heroes
4. The Colbert Report
3. The Office
2. Veronica Mars
1. 24
The Honorable Mentions
-Rescue Me
-South Park
-Psych
-Saturday Night Live
-Desperate Housewives
-Survivor/The Amazing Race
-House, M.D.
-Entourage
-Big Love
-Deadwood
Looking at just my honorable mentions, I realize how great TV was in 2006.
I also removed "Extras". I'm cheating a bit, and I will include it in the 2007 list, even though I've already seen the new season of episodes.
