Watched SG1 this morning, and loved it. One of the better premieres in a long time. If they keep up the quality it will be a great season, but then again I said that after New Order and after a while the season went down hill. "Bullets bounce!" heh.
I'll watch Atlantis on an actual TV Monday, thankfully TMN decides to show it only three days after SciFi and I have BSG on VCD, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll watch it tonight, if it is up to the same standards as the first season it will be great.

I think it's more about thread consolidation than quality or similarity so I don't mind. I don't think we can sustain a healthy thread for any one of those three shows, let alone three in total. This makes it easier. Was "Scattered" any good? I'm hearing mixed things.

well... I'm not saying SG is as good as BSG- coz that is AMAZING.... however, they are on on the same night... and I like them both... in different ways

Scattered was a pretty good season opener. Tense.
Is there a soundtrack available for BSG (not the miniseries)? The end theme from Kobol's Last Gleaming Part II (the scene where Gaius and Number Six see the baby in the concert hall) is incredible. It's really haunting.

Granted it's strength is the dramatic tension that "Scattered" delivered in abundance but a remark that draws laughter every so often isn't a bad thing. I liked pretty much every thing about the episode, with the exception of the marooned officers on Kobol. While the shootout in the jungle was great I don't need another season of a few people off on some distant planet with their own crazy adventures. I got bored of Helo/CylonSarah midway through the first season. I wanted to see more of Lee and Rosalyn, that dynamic has interested me from their inital meeting in the mini, it will be interesting to see how that whole situation works out with Rosalyn still in jail. I hope she doesn't stay there much longer there won't be much politicking she can do from behind bars. The battle at the end was amazing, the music fit just right during that whole final sequence with the prayer the surgery, the virus. Everything just worked so well together there. Can't wait to see what they do next week, and what the hell is keeping Space from showing the second season up here in Canada. loyalfromlondon wrote: Is there a soundtrack available for BSG (not the miniseries)? I got the soundtrack!- its GREAT!! I love it!!
I agree that helo/boomer got a bit boring... but apparently they are all gonna be back in a few episodes... its just gonna take a bit of time to get them all sorted.
I wanna see more rosalyn!- not a show for the impatient I feel this season, but at least they are not rushing through things... in fact its almost 24-esque.

"Scattered" KICKED ASS.. There are no mixed feelings.. This is hands down The BEST Sci-Fi Show on the Sci-Fi Channel and SG1 and Atlantis are appetizers for this Main Course on Sci-Fi Friday..

I'd go one further and say that BSG is one of the best shows on television, regardless of genre. I think I'm just going to ignore the people that thought Scattered wasn't great, because they - clearly - are idiots.

Just watched Stargate: Atlantis - The Siege III, and I was pretty impressed. While I still don't like the Wraith as a villian, I don't find them interesting, I liked all the character interaction from the people in Atlantis.
I liked Mitch Pillegi's character and think he and Sheppard have the beginnings of a good dynamic. Still think Rodney is the best character - the guys just hilarious. I find I'm one of the few that like Weir especially in her interactions with Sheppard. Teyla is even growing on me. At the start I hated her and the people that joined her but as soon as they left the city and it was just her she has grown more tolerable.
I didn't see a real need to get rid of Ford after just one season, didn't really have the time, or the amount of character development to care about his departure. So while I liked this episode, and the two preceeding parts it's an alarming trend. I only like multi-part Atlantis episodes. The Rising, The Storm/The Eye, The Seige. All other episodes- crap to meh.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Continues to RULE wih this week's epsiode titled "The Valley of Darkness" which involves a Virus invading the GALACTICA and the Cylons awakening to reek havoc and it's up to Apollo and the President and the rest of the squad to get to the Medical facility in order to tend to Commander Adama, meanwhile on Kobol, Starbuck and Helo as well as the Chief and Baltar are trying to escape even more Cylon ambushes.. Great show Ronald Moore!!! Next week: Col Tighe declares Marshal Law with special guest star once again, Richard Hatch who plays this Terrorist and was the original Apollo in the 70's BATTLESTAR GALACTICA..

Just finished watching SG1, it was another quality episode that set the stage nicely for the Ori as the new villian of the season.
Just 7 more hours until I get to watch BSG. It still seems so very far away, but I guess it's better than waiting for January when Space up in Canada will get it.

oohh I really like SG1 this week- poor vala! some fine acting by MS and CB- in fact all of them.
ben browder fighting the knight guy! lol- yay!- he had shades of john crichton there- but all good!!
Atlantis was qute cool! loving the new dynamic to the show.
however much I love these two shows I always have to leave BSG to watch last because if I watch it first the others pale in comparison
BSG was amazing as ever this week- must.have.more!!!!

Indeed it still does.
VoD was terrific, especially the scenes on Galactica. Tigh and Apollo at the end by Adama in sick bay was fantastic. I would like to see more of those two and their tension filled conversations. Once more I found myself bored on Kobol with Targ and that crew. It detracted from all the excitement going on with Galactica, especially with the abrupt cuts to the boring jungle.
Also, when will Helo finally get back to Galactica? So we can see him interact with more that one person at any given time. But those are just a few minor quibbles with what is easily one of the best shows on television.

Stargate SG1's "Origin" was a great conclusion to the three part introductory arc to the new team and to the new villian, the Ori. The Ori actually show promise as a villian, although they are really kind of similar to DS9's Pa'Raith(sp), but that can be overlooked. Now that Daniel and Vala have finished their adventures in other peoples bodies I would like to see some SG1 interaction, and not just seperate adventures like we've had for the past couple seasons. One more thing, that whole Jaffa nation thing? Cut it out - it's not interesting. Give Teal'c something else to do.

yeah I agree with the jaffa sub plot- boring.
I also thought that about the Ori- they definetley reminded me of the ds9 bad guys.... with the flame and everything- also the way their servents eyes lit up. but its all good.
now lets get the team together now and go and have some adventures like in the second half of avalon part 1.
