And is it just me or is every other network ploughing in the marketing this year and its all eerily similar to the way ABC launched Lost and DH?

Invasion looks worse. I just don't get it. All the networks pass on this paranormal, sci-fi-ish stuff, and then when one show breaks out, they're all on the bandwagon with their crapfest of crapfests. Surprisingly, I see zero traces of FOX trying to rip off Lost or Housewives, which is really odd.

Fox's Prison Break and ABC'S Commander In Cheif are the only two dramas i see taking off.

If Invasion does well it wont last i dont think; fast dropper.

Night Stalker i just dont see doing well at all either even though it has a built in fanbase there.
ABCS comedy lineup is somewhat stronger with Sons & Daughters being the most promising of the bunch.

V Excited about Season 2 of Desperate Housewives and Season 5 of Alias though.

Here's a zap2it article on pretty much the same topic: http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_ma ... 7C,00.html

The last time ABC helped lead a network television paradigm shift was at the turn of the millennium when the success of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" prompted other networks to jump on the game-show bandwagon with temporary hits like "The Weakest Link" and instant duds like "The Chair"...

Yep, it seems as though each network has its own Lost (and I'm seeing maybe only one of them making it) and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (NBC's Three Wishes, Fox's Renovate My Family, etc.).

It's been a strange, serendipitous year for ABC.

Prison Break is one more tick on the ABC Style marketing card. Yet im not so sure if it can hold since its on FOX after all and its stars and production values are significantly less appealing

I think both NBC and CBS don't have too much to offer in this upcoming season. Each might have 1 or 2 shows that do quite well, though none will reach the status of housewives and LOST of last years!

Fox actually has an impressive fall season schedule. I'm not saying that even half their new shows look good or that appealling, but for some reason, for a network I try so hard to hate (and I really don't know why), I wasn't disgusted or disappointed in their schedule at all.

ABC really doesn't have that much new stuff going on this season. The only thing that can break out is Commander in Chief and the writing has to be top-notch for it to really survive and go on to season 2. Other than that, all ABC has to do is maintain its current hits and strengthen their comedy line-up, even if by 1 show. If they can do that, I think this season will have been a gain for the network.
