What is it about this show that everyone likes. I'll try to watch it and see for myself but I am curious what you all think. Is it the dialogue? The acting? The action?

I am watching it now and I understand finally.
It's that the acting is better than in peer programs like Stargate and such, the sets are pretty cool, the guys are ones you can identify with, and the women are, oh what's the right phrase....smoking hot.

theres somethign fresh about it. the show, much like battlestar used the sci fi thing as no more than a setting and plot. while other sci fis make their entire premise to be sci fi-ey, both battlestar and firefly have themes that have nothing to do with the fact that its space or anything like that ... they're both just good shows.
and the fact that both of them have an amazing opening theme doesn't hurt either.

So uh, I watched part one of the Firefly pilot.
I now know why the pilot was previously unaired.

I never watched Battlestar, Farscape, etc., but I'm kind of curious about the show just because I think Serenity looks kind of interesting (and, of course, I've heard it's the best thing ever).
Meh. I'll just Netflix it if I feel the need to.
