Post TV Awards Nominations
I was planning on releasing a fake nominee list, but you guys rock so much, I will not be going in that direction! No no, instead, I will present to you FINALLY the list of this year’s Excellence in Television nominees. There were two or three ties in total, and in some cases, I just let it go with seven and eight nominees. But, when I got to Guest Star (where 8 nominees was needed), I figured 15 nominees was a little much, so I made the final call on that one. Anyway, here are the FIRST TEN nomination categories with all nominees listed. In an hour, I will release the second part of the nomination list, and then you can vote from then until... well, we'll decide on a deadline.

Here they are!

Therefore, six more shows have been selected for voting. These were the six remaining shows with the most votes. It will be your job to vote for ONE winner amongst the six, to be added to the previous two automatic winners. Nice! Good showing for 24, Family Guy, and Alias!

YAY for Lupe Ontiveros and Sela Ward (whom I inexplicably forgot to nominate!)...

The Housewives currently lead with 6 (in these nominations), followed by Alias and Lost with 5 apiece. My favorite show, 24, is currently at 3, along with CSI.

Alias, Lost, The Amazing Race, Family Guy, and Arrested Development. =D>

I'm hoping for some more Scrubs recognition, though. And Six Feet Under.

And good guest star picks, guys.

I haven't done a tally for all shows, but I see Desperate Housewives is the clear-cut winner with 13 nominations. My favorite show, 24, got a decent 6 nominations. I believe Lost and Alias both got 11 apiece, but I may be wrong.

First of all, I thought it would be interesting to announce the most votes for a show/actor/actress in all of the ballots.

-Lost, The Simpsons and Family Guy all received a nomination in the lead categories (Drama, Animated Show) from 15 out of the 19 ballots.

-Kiefer Sutherland, "24", received a nomination in 14 of the 19 ballots.

-And with a nomination in 13 out of the total 19 ballots, we have Jennifer Garner ("Alias"), Teri Hatcher ("Desperate Housewives"), Terry O'Quinn ("Lost"), and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Wonderful sweeps for two of my favourite shows "Alias" and "Desperate Houswives"!
I always get miffed when Alias seems to sniff an acting award at best. But finally Sloane gets a nod! And Marshall Too! Fabulous. Will campaign for Alias to win.

"Lost" starts in the United Kingdom this Autumn - very excited.
Awesome for Scrubs as well; which has always missed the recognition it deserves and is my favourite sitcom since Friends [Less than Perfect being a close second]

Once voting is completed, I will also show you all the winners from the past three years. I would show them now, but I don't want anything influencing the voting (which is why I did not want the nomination deadline to be after the Emmys, or I assume we might have more nominees closer to Emmy nominees).

I really wanted to watch it when it premiered. But it was on a bad night and the Tivo was booked already.

On the surface (based on the 11 million clips I've seen) it does look dark enough to be of some interest to me.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to fix any of the categories just for you and me for Alias (which I would not do, so no one jump down my throat accusing me because of a joke), but Alias got surprisingly overwhelming support in most of the nominations. The nominations for the show itself in Best Drama, for Jennifer Garner, Victor Garber, Lena Olin, Special episode, and Opening Sequence were all overwhelming.

I swear, this is my last individual post in this thread, but I have to say I am very, VERY pleased with all of the nominations. I think this is as close as any of us will ever get to a dream award show. It may be just for fun, but I think I had a lot more fun finding out these nominations than I will on Thursday for Emmy's nominations.

Just editing this in with the post: Take note to the Best Lead Actor in a Drama category. Four of the six nominees star in shows that are NOT nominated for Best Drama. That in itself goes to show that, while these shows are all excellent shows, all of them largely depend on their male lead.

Reflects the fact that Season 4 is possibly the best season yet; ive just watched the episode Pandora and i had goosebumps throughout. The fact it was one episode that i never knew what was going to go on helped too. The spoiler thing has kind of faded for me, im very excited again about the way the show is going.

Anywhoo im creating some simple [but hopefully effective] Alias campaigning stuffs right now.

Lots more Alias, Scrubs, and Arrested Development support. Good job, guys.

Not much support for a pretty great season of ER, though. Bad job, guys. Heh.

Surprised that Veronica Mars got that many votes, though.

Post Mike's Alias Campaign. Part One
The start of my hopefully long Alias campaign ...

And can we just all thank Mr.X for his hard work in counting up the nominations? MR.X, your certified FABULOUS!

Image

Kevin Weisman, Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for "Alias"

The underdog everyone loves to love; season four saw our favourite dork dealing with family life; and for the second time - keeping his true identity a secret from the rest of the world.
Not only did little Marshall give our tech specialist many sleepless nights; but between yanking out peoples eyeballs; saving a dying man and stopping terrorist behemoths - Marshall has done his fair share for APO.

Kevin Weisman's portrayal of the bumbling tech specialist is 300% believable and 500% dimensional. Instead of playing the cliche; he invests emotional depth and intensity into the role - and all the whilst brings the lighthearted relief to continous doomsday situations. A fantastic actor in a fantastic show.

Image

Mia Maestro, Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for Alias

Whilst its unlikely that Maestro will be winning the lead in the show any time soon; she has been warm, believable and intense as Sydney's beautiful and cultured sister with a past. Her talents in tackling this supporting role has already given her various other big screen supporting roles on the cards; and lets face it - if her gritty good acting dosen't keep her around; shes never going to go out of work unless Models are replaced by robots.
Which may or may not happen on May 17th 2022.

Image

Ron Rifkin, Best Supporting Actorin a Drama for Alias

Like Kevin, Ron Rifkin has been a glimmering star in the supporting cast of the fabulous show; and is similarly underappreciated due to the fabulousness of costar Victor Garber. Season four has saw evil Arvin Sloane show a humane side even more than we though possible - his daughter, Nadia, brought out his yearning to be a family man - and has his rambaldi obsession dissipated ? Hmmm....But Rifkin has played a multifaceted, superdimensioned villan for 4 years. His motives are still waiting to be unveiled and he plays the ambiguous baddy Sloane with a glint in his eye, a temper not to be unleashed and a history that would give Irina Derevko the shitters like no one else can. Theres not a finer actor to play this role than the diverse Rifkin.

More soon.

Who thinks Marshall (Kevin Weisman) and Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) should hook up? I know Marshall is married and has a baby, but... they should definitely be best friends.

Chloe is a character on 24, not Alias.

Great nominations! I'm a little ticked the fabulous Mariska Hargitay was snubbed, but I'm very happy with the noms (go, Desperate Housewives, Lost and Arrested Development!)
