Really? The Valentino scenes were painful. I also hate Evan Peters this season.

The Wes Bentley twist in the latest episode was the most obvious thing ever.

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
Also ENOUGH with these episodes that are nothing but flashbacks. The story hasn't moved forward in weeks.

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
Great season. The little plot bits are all adding up well to me, and the concept of people who are addicted to each other like they have a vampiric craving for the other is great

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
Oh, I forgot I caught up on this the other day. The past few episodes have been solid. Chloe Sevigny is becoming my favorite character and I think that Lady Gaga's acting is improving.

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
The rules about coming back as ghosts has been sloppy. When the Countess killed Tristan in front of Liz why wouldn't he come back? I think Natacha was killed in the hotel too. They brought up the idea of unfinished business but I think those characters had it

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
I love that Queenie from "Coven" came back but I hate that James March of all people killed her since he's one of my top ten least favorite characters ever on this show. I hope she's resurrected and kills them all

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
That was a great finale, I really enjoyed the Liz death, the Countess' role in it, the musical choices, etc. I liked Sally and Wildrake finding their place. John and Billie took up a lot of the episode but it was well done and acted by Sarah Paulson and John's family living in the hotel and him coming back once a year felt right and bittersweet. Maybe best episode of the season.
Not my favorite season since it felt a little disjointed and not planned out compared to the early ones, but long live AHS and its emotionally resonant characters and unique directing style

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
Terrific finale. Very resonant and stylish. American Horror Story is never a major source of coherence, but this episode nicely brought a lot of the season's themes and tensions to a satisfying, melancholy, quietly eerie close.
I prefer Coven, but Hotel definitely outpaces Freak Show. I still need to watch Murder House and Asylum. It seems the seasons are going to become much more intertwined in regard to returning characters and locations.

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
Murder House and Asylum feel like the best ones to me, though I may have helped that I binged them and Coven compared to the more disjointed week to week experience of Freak Show and Hotel. Murder House also may have benefitted from the freshness of AHS trick and tropes at that point.
Still considering the comparison between Murder House and Hotel can be made as having ghost characters in a contained L.A. setting, the comparison between the seasons probably represents where AHS has gone as a whole since it started, for as much worse as better. Murder House feels more intimate and self contained, with a distinction emotionally between its real, relatable protagonists and its numerous supporting roles swirling around them. I always felt like there was an order to the madness and how its plot fit together the first two AHS seasons. Hotel's ambitions are more blown up in setting, cast and including plots that are detached from the Hotel for many episodes like John's 10 Commandments case, and trying to piece together so much may have gotten away from the show at times, although in an endearing way

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
I thought the finale was kind of a mess and there were a lot of unanswered plot threads. The resolution with Sally was beyond stupid. I did like the ending for Liz Taylor though, that was a really nice sequence and well-acted by everyone. I wish they would have connected it to "Murder House" by having Scarlett go live with her grandma (who turns out to be Constance).
Rankings:
1. Coven 2. Murder House 3. Asylum 4. Hotel 5. Freak Show
This was still a better season than last year though - a way cooler atmosphere and storyline - though I don't think anyone matched Finn Wittrock's virtuoso performance last year in terms of acting (that could have been because of how awful everything surrounding him was though). Also I don't get the many media outlets praising Evan Peters this year, I thought he was atrocious and I hated his character.

Evan Peters and Matt Bomer were great this season. As was Denis O'Hare.

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
I thought Evan Peters delivered a terrific performance this season. He nailed the creepy-to-charismatic ratio required by this Howard Hughes Meets Pinhead role.

2 months away and still no theme is odd. The did say they were tossing up between two scripts for a while. I wonder which way they went.

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
They are keeping eerything under wraps. I recently wrote an article aout it, compiling the few known details about Season 6.
It actually started shooting last month. The only actors that are definitely in it are Lady Gaga, Ean Peters, Cheyenne Jackson, Angela Bassett and Leslie Jordan. Everything else is up in the air.
FX president Jonathan Landgraf also said that it will be "set in the present, but with echoes from the past".
It will involve some element of children, so something like "American Horror Story: Orphanage" or "American Horror Story: Boarding School" wouldn't surprise me.

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
Yes, the I suspect it would be one of those two linked to Children. They usually leave clues in the final episodes of the previous season but not sure if they did, other than name dropping the Thatcher School for kids.

 Re: "American Horror Story: Hotel"
Both ideas that Ryan Murphy mentioned contain the children element. An oropahange seems like a perfect setting for AHS, but would probably only work in a period setting...
