This musical number is so embarrassingly awful that I'm considering turning off the show 9 minutes before the end of the finale :funny:

There was no huge cliffhanger at all :P So much for all those rumors. In fact that would have actually been a semi-decent ending if this is the last season (which seems unlikely now with the news of an impending final season pickup).

After seeing the last episode I think this is it. No big cliffhanger at all.

There was so much talk about how this *couldn't be cancelled* because of some huge cliffhanger that during the end where Nora was staring at the entire family lovingly as they were dancing I thought she was going to drop dead of a heart attack or something :funny:

But seriously, most was wrapped up. I mean the big reveals of Sarah having another sister and Kitty being pregnant weren't even handled dramatically enough to make them substantial storylines in a potential season 6. The thing with Sarah's sister was treated as an afterthought almost. Other than that you have Nora able to be with her long lost lover, Justin/Scotty stable and raising a family, Justin rekindling his relationship with Tyler, Saul getting married, etc.

If they do a season 6 I would still watch because it seems like if it does happen it's definitely going to be "the final season" and will also be considerably shorter. I hope that if it is the last year though that they get all of the original cast members to come back for at least an episode or two (I can deal with Rob Lowe not returning, it wouldn't make much sense). I think they could do a really great and emotional last few episodes if they had Kitty dying or something like that - since Calista Flockhart seems so desperate to leave.

I mean, even "Ugly Betty" got a proper sendoff and that didn't even make it to 100 episodes and was a season shorter ;) (By the way, does anyone know how this does in syndication? I feel like it's on ALL THE TIME and one of the few non-procedural hourlongs that can say that). I wouldn't be surprised if this came back.

I quite enjoyed the finale and thought it was pretty sweet. But I too heard the rumors about a big cliffhanger and there...wasn't one. In fact, it almost felt like a series finale, with Nora staring lovingly at her family and everyone ending up all happy. So I guess if it doesn't get the shortened final season (although that seems to be the rumor at this point), it was a nice ending. Just sentimental enough. Although it'd kind of crack me up if the show actually ended forever with Born This Way playing in the background.

I guess my feelings at this point are really...I just want a few more episodes. 6-12 would be perfect. I've been watching this show since the very beginning and I kind of want to tear up a little bit at the very end, not just go, "Oh, that was nice." The show hasn't been that good in a while, but ya know, I've invested five entire television seasons in this family. You can't help but care about the characters a little bit. So I hope we see this show again in the fall.
