Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 2nd Season
Two great emotional scenes.
One with the Master of Winterfell and the kids and Khal Drogo and Dany..

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 2nd Season
Great season finale, and one of the best episodes far. The last 1/3 of the episode was intense. I really loved the house of the Undying especially seeing the possible future for King's Landing. I was a little irked about them not explaining who burned down Winterfell (I think most people will figure it out). I am guessing they don't want to reveal too much about Ramsey Snow until next season.

Also sucks that Maester Luwin is being replaced by teh wildling lady

I think they suspected they would get a free pass because of what Robb said a few episodes ago. Besides he is too old to be Roose's son. It is also possible we will see the destruction of Winterfell later through the eyes of Theon and meet Ramsey that way.

The guy who hit Theon was Dagmar Cleftjaw. They mentioned that earlier in the season. I think we are now supposed to wonder who it was that burned down Winterfell.
Next season is so far away.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 2nd Season
Overall a good season considering Book 2 isnt as good as Book 1 or 3. They actually made the weaker parts of the book better - but some of the more epic parts of the book probably weren't as well handled (apart from Blackwater).
Loved the last episode though. Best of the season.

I wasn't a big fan of the finale. 8,000 plot lines and only one paid off. The show's becoming a big fucking tease.

Get used to it. That's how the whole series is. The stories won't wrap up until the series finale.

I wasn't looking for the plot lines to wrap up. I just wanted some of them to end on an interesting note and get me excited for next season.

And I like how there's always continuing story for the rest of the characters. Feels more lifelike than mini-arcs for characters like in the other shows.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 2nd Season
Watched the first 3 episodes and it's pretty boring, I must say. Outside of the occasional boob or split-second of blood, it's a bore-fest. The acting is bad, the plots take forever to unravel, and it just relies on the same old TV tricks as we're used to (procrastination). It cannot fill 10 hours, so it shows us the same shit and harks on about the same points over and over again. The characters are a bit shit. Nobody seems to have any get-up-and-go, it seems to have got-up-and-gone. Also the dialogue is too modern for what is supposed to be an historical fantasy-fiction. They're trying to be different by throwing in the occasional "cunt" and what, are we supposed to be wowed by that and keep watching? It's really nothing we haven't seen in Spartacus or Rome, and the politics were a lot more engaging in those TV shows.

Honestly, Algren, I wasn't hugely impressed or hooked either until after Season 3. Don't give up!!

I didn't hate it, but I found it mildly interesting. After season 3, I started loving it.

To be fair, the show does improve, but it's a massive investment because each episode feels like a mini-movie.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 2nd Season
Each episode of the first season is a bore fest. Fucking slow. It's also badly acted and badly directed. You should look in the background when people are fighting. There are people doing same thing over and over in order to simulate "busy training". lol. so amateur.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 2nd Season
Yeah I didn't think you would be a fan. Game of Thrones is a very slow burn about people ignoring great threats to settle their own petty disputes. But.... you should watch 'till the end of the season at the very least. You'll at least understand why the show is so popular, even if it isn't for you.
