But come on, give Marcia Cross her Emmy already! It'd be nice if Marcia Cross won an Emmy, but if she and Teri Hatcher are nominated together for a Comedy Series, Marcia has little chance of winning, since her role is not really of a comedic nature, despite a few hilarious lines that she has said. Even though ehr role is not necessarily comedic, she does have the best and funniest lines. Not to mention, Teri Hatcher is barely being shown anymore and Marcia has sort of taken the front seat. Also, the icing on the cake, Marcia IS the best actress on the show. When are Emmy nominations out? I wonderif they'll go the way of the Globes and full out nominate like 3 women. I think Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross defintely will get nominated. Fellicity is kinda iffy since she has no real ongoing plotline and is sortof irrelevant. Gabrielle was shunned from the Globes and the Television Academy might overlook her as well. Hopefully Sheridan will get a Supporting Actress nod.
Well, no arguing that, but don't forget that only 2 of the season's episodes get judged by Emmy Voters, so the earlier Teri Hatcher shows can be submitted instead of the later ones. We all know Marcia is the best, but an Emmy Win for best comedic performance? The Emmy Voters may not think she's the funniest. Acting? Yes. Comedy? Maybe not. Just my two cents, since I do want her to win.

I thought it was 3 episodes and I thought it was only for Best Series. So you're telling me the producers or the network turns in only 2 or 3 episodes of the series and from that the voters determine Best Series, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor.....
How come some of the writing categories have like 3 or 4 of the same show sometimes?

:???: That's a damn good question. I don't mind admitting that I'm stumped. Maybe just actors are allowed to submit two episodes? Maybe it is four.

It might be one or two or 3 or four, but they each get to submit their own episodes if they are both nominated.
Though with a show like DH I don't think submitting the episodes/what episodes you submit will make much of a difference.

I finally got around to seeing the first episode, and well...
I really liked it. Definately going to catch up on the show now.

I think Lauren Graham would be in the same category as the Housewives so she should get a nomination. She better! It's just not fair because she's been deserving of a win for so long and now the housewives come along and will obviously win every year so now she doesn't have a chance , when she's actually better than any of the actresses on this show, in my opinion.
Anyway, here are my recent DH thoughts that I posted on another forum:
Lynette used to be my favorite character but then it became Bree once her husband cheated on her and she was treating him like dirt. It was funny and she rocked then. But she was a bitch on the last episode, even on the one before that. I hate that she’s an extreme religious Republican. Still, I find her interesting. But if she were in my life I’d probably find her really annoying. She’s too much of a neat freak. It’s not even hard to see how her husband could want to divorce her. People change and the person you were in love with could become someone you’re not. You can’t promise you’re going to feel the same way about someone forever. Overall her husband seems like a pretty good guy. He’s a good, supportive father at least.
Most people don’t like Andrew and think he’s a brat, but I don’t mind him. Sure he’s flawed, but everyone has flaws and it makes the character human. He said he didn’t care that he ran over Carlos’ mom, but I don’t believe that. I think he did/does care; he just put on a tough “I don’t care†front. He has a lot to deal with, including two parents who are in a failing marriage and his sexuality, even though he says he’s not gay now and that he just told his parents that so they’d bring him home, but that’s obviously bull. If his mother would have been supportive like his dad he wouldn’t be “seeking revenge†against her. Even if he doesn’t act like it sometimes I know he loves her, it was obvious when he found out his dad cheated on her. I really liked him in this moment because I had always felt bad for Bree the way he treated her and now he was being really caring toward her. It was nice. But now she hurt him and he wants to get back at her by hurting her in return. It might seem really wicked of him but I see where he’s coming from. I think I would have felt the same way. My dad made me so mad sometimes that I’d wish he were dead because he’d never accept me. At times when he’d make anti-gay comments, even after he knew I was gay and yet would still do it in front of me, I’d wish I had a gun and could shoot him or beat the living shit out of him. I’d just feel like snapping. He’d make me hate him so bad and want him dead. Anyway, I understand Andrew’s frustration and what he’s going through. As for the stuff with him and his mom, I’m personally hoping she’ll come around and they will end up seeing each other eye to eye so he won’t have to end up going through with his “plan†to get back at her. But for the moment I do not like Bree; she’s so cold. I’d have to say my favorite is Lynette again. Shockingly a lot of people hate her, which I think is because they think she’s a bad mother or something, but if they had kids or were around enough of them they’d understand and wouldn’t be so judgmental. She won’t even spank her kids so I don’t see why these people would frown on her. If they were mine I’d beat the crap out of them, which is why I don’t want kids because they can be monsters. It would take a lot not to spank them. When I was a kid I always thought that if I had kids I’d never spank them, but now that I’m older I’ve changed my mind. Sometimes they just ask for it and the just talking to them usually doesn’t work. Now I don’t support abuse, but spanking when they really have it coming (if they are a-hole kids anyway, some are good and don’t usually need it) I no longer have a problem with. They could have a friend hit them on the ass a few times and it wouldn’t hurt them, so it’s not like you’re really physically hurting them (unless you go overboard and hit them too hard and too much, which I don’t support either), you’re just hurting their feelings, which is why they cry. Anyway, I think Lynette is the one most mothers will be able to relate to.
It's rumored that Andrew is supposed to just turn into an evil asshole for next season.
Here's a rumor that a friend showed me from some spoilers site:
04/18 - Andrew's behavior is only going to get worse. Eventually, it will come out that he killed Carlos' mother. And before this season ends, something saucy will happen between him and Justin, the guy formerly seen in that love scene in the pool.
I don't want them to turn him into a really bad character. That just makes gay people look even worse, and it's not like we need more negative exposure. Damn you Mark Strawberry! Don't make the gay hottie evil! Unless of course they focus on a nice homo next season in the form of Justin to make up for it so people will see that not all gay people are bad .

I'm almost positive Teri Hatcher will win the Emmy this year, if only because Susan is such a klutz.
It really wouldn't surprise me if Hatcher and Marcia Cross actually rotated winning on and off several times, just because there are not a strong number of actresses in good sitcoms. I could see Felicity Huffman winning sometime, but not until Lynette is given more to do.

Lynette's problem with people not liking her is she's married to the most normal, nice guy on the entire show, and treats him like dirt.

I didn't like him at first. He seemed like a dick and would leave her with the kids while he was off working and acted like her parenting wasn't work when it is actually more work than he does. It was funny when she left him with the kids not long after the show first started. But now I've come to like him. He's gotten much nicer. And she doesn't treat him THAT horrible, especially not lately. Besides, after you've been with someone quite awhile that's just how relationships are. You aren't always going to be incredibly nice to eachother. People get annoyed with each other. It doesn't mean they don't still love one another, but you just don't always show it anymore.

I wonder if that Vanity Fair fiasco had anything to do with Susan's recap being done after Gabrielle, Bree, and Lynette.

The puzzle starts to fit together.
"I know what you did and it makes me sick." Mrs. Huber presumably blackmailed Mary Alice over the info Felicia told her, and I'm guessing the "drug addict" mother of the baby is Deidre, the lady in the box!
Woo.
Have I mentioned how much I love Harriet Sansom Harris?

That was so funny!
That one scene with Edie shows exactly why she needs to be featured more.
Lynette didn't waste any time confronting the issue, did she?

This episode was one of the worst of the season.... still good, but no where near as good as the last episode (not the recap one)

That was an entertaining episode, it was very good to see Tom finally stand up to Lynette. Also very good to see Edie back on the show, I forgot how much I enjoyed her. That Zach creeps me out, I had a strong feeling he was behind the fire at Susan's but that shrine to Julie shown at the end just pushed his level of creep to new heights.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I had already solved the puzzle two weeks ago if anyone checked my post: this is all my speculation, but it makes alot of sense, Zach is Mike's son as Mike dated Deidra before she disappeared 15 years ago.
SPOILERS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The episode was pretty good, not anywhere near the best of the season. It seemed to be a bit of a filler episode except Gabrielle's announcement.
I loved the focus on Lynette and Tom. Marriages all around are under extreme stress and they're doing a really good job at portraying that.
I thought Lynette did pretty good, actually REALLY good. Besides the fact that her character is only annoying to her husband, I don't know why so many people continue to hate her. I'm a guy and I know ALOT of peope could relate with her.
I hope it gets much better next week.
And yes, even though Edie had only a handful of lines, she was SOOOOO good and previews show she's in next week's episode, thank God!!

I agree about the spoiler/secret, that was my thinking too the last couple weeks. And it's funny cause if it's true, then Susan's girl and Zach might end up becoming step siblings.
As to Lynette, she has a grating personality, she's just sandpaper on my brain. But she was 150% right this episode, it was severely disrespectful of her husband to hire that woman and then not tell her for 3 months. Marriages have broken up over less, wow I can't even imagine doing that.

^^^^ Though I disagree, I like that sandpaper remark!
And ya, she was right. I really like her relationship and marital problems a bazillion times more than her kids.

I'm getting the feeling the ratings for Housewives tonight could approach or surpass the highest ever, being Mother's Day and all. Or I could be totally wrong and it could go the other way.
