Re: Full(er) House is coming back, bitches
It must be pretty dreadful considering in my mind critics have had a consistent trend of overpraising Netflix series

Reviews are not just bad, its extremely bad. Whens the last time a tv show received 34? Its usually reserved for offensive shows that get canned within 4 episodes.

Re: Full(er) House is coming back, bitches
I'm not sure what critics expected? Halfway through the pilot and it's the Full House I remember: cheesy jokes, silly storylines and saccharine-sweet.
I will say the cast has aged extremely well, save for Bob Saget, who looks great for a middle-aged lesbian.

Yeah it's the same Full House has always been. Though why there was not the usual sappy music during the whole DJ not knowing if she can do it on her own/everyone wanting to help scenes surprises me.

Re: Full(er) House is coming back, bitches
In all seriousness, the pilot episode of this series was maybe the worst episode of television I've ever seen. It was excruciating.

I watched the first two episodes, I liked em lol. I watched quite a bit of Full House when I was a kid so it was pleasant to me, I'll finish the season.

Magic Mike wrote: I am semi-curious but not enough to bring myself to watch it. I refuse to watch anything with that nutjob Candace Cameron. Nutjob? Stacey Dash (from Clueless) and Victoria Jackson (from SNL) ARE even worse than her.

Re: Full(er) House is coming back, bitches
Yeah, on the nutjob scale, Candace Cameron Bure ranks low. Still a hint of nutjob. But nothing terrible. Not brother Kirk nutjob.
On episode 2 and I really love the show. It's so cheesy, so silly, so... Full House. Some shows get a free pass, and Fuller House is one of them. The trio of Candace, Jodie and Andrea are perfection. They all are perfect for the sitcom format. Unlike 2016's other big revival, The X-Files, Fuller House is perfectly content to not change much of the format that made it famous, and that's fine.
The downside is the kid playing Max. What an annoying kid.

Re: Full(er) House is coming back, bitches
I have now watched 5 episodes.
I have to say, once the show moves past all of the godawful exposition and characters from the original show dropping in to do nothing but repeat their catchphrases ad nauseum, this show gets a lot better. Like, Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin and Legend Andrea Barber are actually kind of enjoyable to watch together? And the kids are OK. And it's not nearly as schmaltzy as Full House was.

Re: Full(er) House is coming back, bitches
Agree with your sentiment Libs.
The previous perceived "funniest" seem least effective on Fuller House, with most of Joey's scenes falling flat (and I'd argue Steve's as well). Funny for him to take a sandwich when he was young, just kinda sad to see it when he's pushing 40.
Danny's showing more of his standup comedy side, while Kimmy's storyline is so ridiculous that it works.
Also, where is "VICKY?" Danny married some random. Bring back Vicky!

Man Episode 3 you could tell how much Macy Gray did not want to be on there.

Re: Full(er) House is coming back, bitches
There seems to be some headway into measuring streaming service ratings and apparently Fuller House could be in the class of The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones for biggest show on TV http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/t ... ce=twitter

Re: Full(er) House is coming back, bitches
Seems a bit hard to believe given the lack of cultural footprint. Even if you account for a more female-skewed demographic...

I knew way more people who watched at least an episode of Fuller House than people who watched any Walking Dead or Game of Thrones.
