There's something kind of satisfying about the two actors with the biggest film cred (McConaughey and Julia Roberts) getting fawned over all night only to lose their awards. TV isn't a platform you use: you're either in or you're out.

That was more tongue-in-cheek than serious, after one or two rah-rah speeches last night about how awesome TV is now.

 Re: Emmy winners: running list
Seth Meyers was an able host. He had a few good jokes (though I thought the funniest bits didn't involve him, or as was the case of Billy on the Street, involved him indirectly) but was largely forgettable, much like Late Night With Seth Meyers.
He did do what I thought all hosts should yet never do: intro'd just about every presenter. Some years, an awards show can go almost an hour without an appearance by the host.

Seth was OK. He had some hits, and a lot of misses. Serviceable.
TIM WHATLEY.
And I'm super happy for Louie, and Sarah Silverman. But Matt Bomer got robbed.

 Re: Emmy winners: running list
So what did everyone find funny or painful from presenters, bits, etc. not including Seth's monologue?
I laughed at the Billy on the Street bit, Ricky Gervais's acceptance speech and Weird Al's theme songs were fun, though completely overshadowed by Samberg's fifteen seconds as Joffrey. And surprisingly, Jimmy Kimmel was great.
Huge fan of Colbert... but his imaginary friend bit was terrible. Not a good prelude to his Report/Late Show transition. And Jimmy Fallon did some sort of long, drawn-out joke that had no payoff.

That was surprisingly rough for Colbert, who can usually elevate weak material like that. Harrelson & McCaughnahey and then Key & Peele both did awesome as presenters, I'd say.
