It goes through stages where it's really great - I actually LOVED season 5 (it's probably my second favorite season after season 2) mainly due to the final stretch of episodes with Izzie's cancer, the wedding and the big cliffhanger at the end. While most of season 6 wasn't very good the finale is one of the best episodes of the series. Since season 7 I think it's been at a level of good-to-great at least most of the time.

The obvious nadir of Grey's was Izzie and the ghost sex.

Season 9 has been pretty good. Although last night's episode was fairly boring.

The thing is though that led to a stretch of some of the best episodes of the series ever. So in retrospect I can't hate it.

Next week's episode featuring Sarah Chalke is apparently based on her actual experiences with her son:

Sounds good. Props to the show and Chalke for trying to bring knowledge of this disease to a wider audience.

Fixed. Those final episodes are Grey's at its best.

I'm partial to the season 2 finale and the bomb episodes myself as the best episodes of the series. But the final 5-6 season five episodes are INCREDIBLE. Quite a few made me bawl.

We're in for another roller coaster of a finale folks. Shonda Rhimes confirmed today that the last 2 episodes are going to find the doctors dealing with a super storm.

LOL Shonda can't help herself. I thought she said earlier this year that the season finale would be comparatively "quiet"?

I dare to say that last episode's cliffhanger has to be one of my favorites in the entire series.

Watching Jo's all beaten and then the reaction from Karev was genious.

Was there really just a flash mob proposal scene just now? Did I dream that? WTF. lol

But yeah, that scene was way too upbeat for this show which means that April will probably die in the finale. lol. Shonda never lets her characters be happy on this show.

Not April but her boyfriend which will make her go back to Avery.

NOOOOOOOO Webber. That'd be super sad if he was actually dead. I feel like we were supposed to be surprised by that happening, though I wasn't at all. There was foreshadowing for him getting electrocuted like the whole episode.

Also, Calzona's marriage as we know it blowing up. Oof.

It wasnt as epic as last year's but this one closed every mayor storyline this season and idk, I'd rank this as my third favorite season behind the 5th and the 2nd.

Awesome finale! I loved when Cristina was listing off all the horrible things Meredith has survived throughout the course of this show's run :funny:

Also poor Callie/Arizona. Damn you Peyton Sawyer! :P

And I doubt Webber is actually dead as the cast departures on this show usually leak followed by some big interview after their departure and I haven't seen anything of the sort just yet. It would be sad though.

Still not the biggest Izzie 2.0 fan but I do want to see Alex happy so guess I'm OK with them kind of making things official.

I can't believe this next season will be the 10th! And the show will have its 200th episode - I hope it will pull out all the stops for it. I can't believe it's been on so long. How time flies.

WHOA. Sandra Oh is leaving after this season.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-f ... son-594134

I'm shocked. I almost think they should the show after this year though it's doubtful they will. She's a REALLY important character and arguably the most important one to depart thus far. I didn't watch "ER" so I don't know how smoothly the cast changes were handled, but I think they should fight like hell to keep as many of the other original members as possible now if they can (Patrick Dempsey seems like he wants to leave). The show won't be the same without Cristina :(

At least she'll be in all 24 episodes of season 10. Her goodbye episode will probably be really emotional and I really hope Shonda doesn't kill her off so she can return for the show's eventual series finale.

So who do we still have left from the original cast that needs to make deals?

Ellen Pompeo
Patrick Dempsey
Chandra Wilson
James Pickens, Jr.
Justin Chambers

That's all right? I'm almost positive that Pompeo, Chambers and Wilson will stay (I would have thought the former would have left but then they killed off Lexie so... :P ). Sara Ramirez has been on the show so long at this point it's weird to think she wasn't originally a regular until season 3 (after recurring in season 2) and was introduced as a love interest for George ;)

Why? It's actually still pretty good. Just because it's been on forever doesn't signify a massive drop in quality or anything.

It has always been garbage and is a glorified soap opera that makes a mockery of the medical field.

Sandra Oh leaving will be a huge blow to the show, more than any other departing cast member (including Heigl and T.R. Knight). At least it's not until the end of the season, though. I personally think they should just wrap it up when season 10 ends. There's still creative juice left, but do we really want to see it become the bloated corpse that ER was when it ended?
