Re: A Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead - your favorite?
I wouldn't call Boardwalk Empire or Luck boring at all. Luck especially was a rich drama. It just doesn't have ACTION like The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones so it looks boring or tamer by comparison.

To be honest, The Walking Dead would be boring too if I wasnt into the whole Zombie shit.

The Walking Dead is boring with the zombies. Boardwalk Empire is great.

Bump
To me this is The Walking Dead all day. I am a lot more emotionally connected to its characters and it is the more cinematic show behind the camera in my opinion

Both are overrated, but overall easily Game of Thrones. At least it actually has plot development and the characters are somewhat interesting. I stand by my theory that you could watch the last 5 minutes of every TWD episode and it would have the same effect as the whole thing.

Re: A Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead - your favorite?
Game of Thrones is certainly a bigger spectacle in television, and there are too many moments and characters I love from the show, but I am more involved with The Walking Dead.
This season on GOT, I felt the wind came out of the sails a bit, as though they spent the entire season building to a big event that didn't really come. Considering what did happen, plus the Hardhome final fifteen minutes, that's disappointing. And for that, I lost a bit of interest in the show. I'm sure I'll be back into it by next season, but my anticipation dropped.
On the flip side, The Walking Dead has ventured too often into boring terrain, but I still care about the show more. I don't know if it's the genre, the characters or just the story, but I'm Team Walker more than Team White Walker.
However, as the series begins to dilute itself with a "spinoff" and the age starts to show, maybe it will fall victim to on-too-long-itis, which has claimed too many before it.

I wasn't the biggest fan of S5 Game of Thrones but still GOT as a whole hasn't had as many mishaps as the midseason returns of TWD. Especially when you compare both their sources.

I've only watched Season 1 of Game of Thrones, so I vote for The Walking Dead. I think I saw an image of that show, and it was better than what I saw of GOT.
