YES! This went up to a 5.6. Great job. Hopefully this will air as a Spring-Summer show. NBC finally caught a break!

Just watching the episode. Not only does Christina pick bad songs for herself, she picks horrible contestants. Congrats X. You know how to flop.
Also what are those weird bubbly things on Adam's neck??? Infection?

Sia! I'm guessing Christina brought her... I'm hoping she will also sing something...

Re: The Voice - Season One
Yeah, Christina picked a lot of bad ones... Overall i like Adam and Cee Lo Green's teams. Cant wait for the battle rounds.
Was it just me or does this show had a lot of commercials?! :/

Yes. And parts of it repeat too often. They had like 7 previews for next week inside the show itself...

Re: The Voice - Season One
I don't understand this battleground stuff.
Why is Christina pitting 2 of her own power singers against each other. Ew. How does that make your overall team better in the long run?
Anyway , we are about to find out who she's about to cut...

Frenchie? really, well the black girl really fucked it up with that awful high note at the beggining.

Re: The Voice - Season One
This Blake guy reminds me of Frankenstein. Am I alone on that?
Anyway, I'm kinda feeling this next battle. He put 2 contrasting styles against each other singing Elvis. Should be interesting .

Re: The Voice - Season One
The final battle was really good.
Both were really great and I bet Cee-Lo regrets putting those two together.

Re: The Voice - Season One
Frenchie won because of the other girl's mistake going with the high notes.
I think it was a big mistake that Blake pitted his two best singers against each other. They were both very good but I liked the country guy's voice more even though he's not as technically good as the soul one.
The guy from Adam's team battle won tonight IMO but the country girl has a more interesting/unique and appealing voice.
The final duet was very very good but I think Cee-Lo should have picked the black girl. The black girl blew the other one out of the water in terms of voice. I also think the Hispanic one has a thinner voice and goes flat in some places.

I don't like these battle rounds. I don't see why someone would pit stronger people on their team against each other. AI does it better. I almost feel like they could sing a round of SingStar here.

Re: The Voice - Season One
Just caught the first battle round. It did seem a little frustrating seeing people with powerhouse voices get pitted against one another like that, but there was a good amount of talent on display.
Christina and Adam both made the right calls. Cee-Lo's was harder to say...the Perfect duet was really good.
Blake was flat out wrong. It should've been the goofy Mormon guy, not the country singer. Boring and predictable choice coming from him.
Are Reba, Monica, Sia and that other dude going to be around every battle episode? lol I hope so...they contributed little to nothing but I'm always down for some Reba.

Yeah. Blake went with that guy solely because he had a country voice... I don't know how much more biased can you get after having three professionals say that that gay guy should go through and then pick the other person...

I'm fairly sure the battle rounds were all filmed in one big stretch, so it's basically one show cut up onto a bunch of episodes. Reba should be around for all of the episodes, and I too am always down for some Reba. I love her so much, and I'm not that big of a country fan.

Re: The Voice - Season One
These battle rounds are boring. It depends on how the later stages of this show turn out, but as of now I can see The Voice burning out fast. There's way too much talking and especially NBC's recapping going on, not enough sining.

I think it had more to do with Blake not knowing what to do with the gay guy than picking the country guy because of his voice. He certainly had to think about it and wasn't very convincing in his tone when choosing the country dude. Round 2 Cee-Lo - I really don't understand how or why he picked the white guy over the black dude. Black guy had a much better voice/package and he performed better than the fat white guy. All the white guy did was growl for half the song. Adam - Love the girl's personality/smile but she knew it, we all knew that she was no match for the black guy with the smooth voice. Blake - THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T PUT YOUR STRONGEST SINGERS IN ONE BATTLE. What a horrible duet. Rocker guy was better than folk duo but that's not saying much. Christina - I thought both did pretty good. Old rocker dudette had a more distinctive voice but that guy was pretty impressive too.

Re: The Voice - Season One
And in battle episode #2, all of the coaches made the correct choices...except Christina. That Beverly chick slightly scares me (mostly because of her spazzy attitude and crazy eyes), and Baba O'Riley seemed tailor-made for her. The other guy did really well considering that and I thought he should've prevailed. Although he loses points for apparently not knowing the song. Who doesn't know Baba O'Riley?
And is everyone on Xtina's team going to be a bald woman? For real.
The duet between the married couple (Elenowen?) and the rocker guy was pretty bad (or, more like, they were really bad and he was OK). This just made me disappointed once again that adorable ginger gay dude from Blake's first battle was cut.
I enjoyed the Stand By Me duet quite a bit, even though everyone in the room knew Angela was out of her league (including her). Wish she had been paired up with someone else, since Javier is probably going to win this the whole thing.

Re: The Voice - Season One
Definitely the least exciting battle round episode so far.
Both the girls on Xtina's team were off. I guess she picked the right one...but eh. Also, why did Christina pick Only Girl In the World for a duet? That's not exactly a song designed to showcase someone's vocal abilities.
Blake's duet...holy hell. I'm glad he picked Dia over that screaming banshee, but good lord. This is the second week in a row he has just come up with a completely bizarre duet that doesn't seem to flatter either performer.
I liked the Creep duet, although I think Adam made the wrong choice here. I would have gone with the girl who sang Come As You Are in her audition, not the guy. Oh well.
I also thought Cee Lo made the wrong choice. The sisters aren't that good. Again...oh well.
Also, Carson Daly continues to be the most robotic person on the planet. I swear he had a semblance of a personality when he hosted TRL but it seems to have evaporated.
Still enjoying this, though.

The first live episode was really NICE.
It shits on Idol.

Re: The Voice - Season One
I didn't realize this was on yesterday. So apparently they had 4 performers from Blake and Christina's team performing live. I have to say that bald woman in the kilt singing the Etheridge song was just karaoke to the Nth. Terrible. Then you had this Castro girl that Christina never should have picked doing a keisha song. Ho-rrible. Terrible. I swear, only Frenchie and maybe that girl on the piano performed well that evening from what I caught.

Re: The Voice - Season One
The first live show was surprisingly good, since Christina and Blake's teams don't appear to be as strong as Adam's and Cee Lo's.
Frenchie was the best. Duh.

Re: The Voice - Season One
Also, the hilariously immature/mostly unprofessional banter between Adam, Blake and Christina on this show is divine. Blake acts like your standard drunk uncle. Christina looked like an absolute hot mess and refused to shut up at any point all night (Lady Marmalade lolwut). And Adam just judges her the whole time and is basically just sex on a stick. And Cee Lo somehow manages to be the most subdued (????). I love every second.
Carson Daly and that random Twitter chick have GOT TO GO, though. Not only does Daly look so emaciated that I'm slightly concerned, but he has less personality than a reanimated corpse. And the whole business with the Twitter in the back room was soooo silly. lol
And I guess I'll rank the performers by team:
Christina 1. Frenchie: 2. Beverly 3. Raquel 4. Lily (worst of the night, probably)
Blake 1. Dia 2. Patrick 3. Xenia 4. Jared

And yes, "woof" is correct. I saw Maroon 5 in concert last summer and he's probably even hotter in person. And I agree about the judges. On Idol, I started to get so exasperated with the judges that I wanted to fast forward through them. Here, I almost want to fast forward through the performances to get to the judges.
