Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
"Southland" is close to getting a fifth season renewal - the only debate right now is whether it will get a 10-episode or 13-episode order.

Fox Renews 'New Girl,' 'Raising Hope' and 'Glee' Yaaay! Raising Hope got renewed. Not that I doubted the renewal much, but I'm still very happy to see this. It also means that due to TV economics these days this practically means 4th season is pretty much a sure thing.

Well that's cool for Raising Hope. I don't watch it but a friend of mine loves it. I wasn't sure it would get renewed. It wasn't a sure-thing like Glee or New Girl.

FOX has a lot of holes to plug next season. Lately Raising Hope did some pretty OK numbers @8PM slot. It didn't drop of the cliff like Breaking Bad would if it was put there. And that one jumped off many cliffs already. Sure it's not a big ratings performer but it's the closest thing FOX can have next season as a plug show if a new show bombs and gets taken off the schedule immediately. I don't expect to see RH on the fall schedule. It's going to be benched.

GOT Facebook Quote: Game of Thrones BREAKING: Game of Thrones has been renewed for a third season. Share this update and spread the word across the realm. I'm surprised that it was a double season renewal.

Very expected after the good ratings so far. They might go ahead and renew it for season four by the end of the season.

Yeah I expected Season 4 as well considering book 3 will be split over two seasons. Regardless Im sure they'll anounce it later or make Season 3 a longer season (less likely).

That's pretty darn cool. I want to find the time to watch the show (stopped watching during Season 2, not at all due to show quality) before it ends now.

Eh. I wouldn't be mad if the show got canceled. They're tieing a Gordian knot around it, which means they can only cheat for the final resolution.

It's cool they're at least giving fans a more proper conclusion. While I don't watch Fringe I hate when I'm invested in a show and it just gets axed without having a proper end.

For some shows I'm mad when they don't get a proper end. The others I'm mad for writers being blind and not seeing that they need to tie things up. And on some I just think that a conclusion is just as disappointing as the premature cancellation.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
I know the majority of fans of these shows disagree with me, but I thought Veronica Mars and Terminator: TSSC both had fitting ends. Open-ended sure, but still unintentionally good endings.

To me the best example was Sliders, but a lot of that was Fox screwing around with the cast (killing off the best character in the Professor and bringing in that awful actress) and doing crazy story changes. Of course, SYFY picked it up and it last two more years but the main star left and the last season was awful. I was always mad at the way it was handled, especially since it was a great concept.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
"The Vampire Diaries," "Supernatural" and "90210" have all been renewed for next season. It will be the fourth, eighth and fifth seasons, respectively. This will also effectively push "90210" over the 100 episode mark as it will be at 92 episodes at the conclusion of the current season.

Those three were obvious choices. The fact they didn't mention GG makes me hope that they will finally cancel it. Two years too late but still.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
The downfall of CW started when they pretended like GG was a huge hit and branded the network with it. The onslaught of similar rich teen shows brought CW down to its knees. If they mean business they will cancel it. If not I fully expect the network to fold next season. Probably all shows will be doing 0.5 or less once they settle after the premiere, with TVD as an exception. I don't see that being good enough even for CW.
