To my chagrin I've come around on this, mostly because Jake Johnson is killin' it here

Last night's episode was HILARIOUS. I was dying at Jess and Nick in the hardware store and eventually in the bedroom.

"I'm Judy Garland!"

Indeed. Everyone's stepped it up considerably from season 1, especially Zooey. But Jake Johnson is...killing it. Really no better description. Nick Miller is like the best character on TV right now.

Yeah he's always been the MVP of the show and this season moreso.

Nick has got to be the best character ever. Plus he's totally gorgeous.

Too bad there are no real Nick Millers out there! No real person could ever be that awesome.

Great episode last night! Schmidt was just as well as Jess's Elvis and drunk Nick.

"Chicago" was a merely very good episode rather than brilliant like the last few have been. But this is still probably the best comedy on television right now. Jess and Nick's relationship is being handled perfectly so far.

I was secretly hoping Margo Martindale would still be antagonistic towards Jess because I would love for her to recur as a semi-villain to her.

So Taylor Swift is going to be on the finale. Hm.

Nick and Jess have become one of my all-time favorite pairings. The show is handling their slooooowly developing relationship exactly right.

Also, the fat shirtless homeless guy in the flashback serenading Winston with "Father Figure" was omg so funny.

The "Father Figure" thing made me cry laughing.

That was the best cutaway I've, like, ever seen on a TV show. Family Guy should take notes.

This is having one of those magical TV seasons of incredible quality that comes along once in a blue moon. I sincerely hope it can continue this through season 3.

Jake Johnson is submitting himself in the Lead Category for the Emmys this year.

He's avoiding the bloodbath that is "Best Supporting Actor from Modern Family" category to an even more competitive lineup. I will jump for joy if he gets in.

He's honestly as much a lead as Greenfield is supporting. So it's fair.

Yeah the writing for his character (this season moreso) has been tied to the main plot while Schmidt/Winston are almost always the B-plot.

omg hyperventilating. I embarrass myself with how hard I ship Nick and Jess. Also, A+ use of Ellie Goulding's "Anything Could Happen."

If it were a perfect world, this show would win the Best Comedy Series Emmy this year.
