ABC is in preliminary discussions as per TVLine to renew the following series for next season: "Grey's Anatomy" "Revenge" "Once Upon A Time" "Castle" "Modern Family" "Suburgatory" "The Middle" "Last Man Standing" "Happy Endings" ( ) YAY! My favorite show is coming back.

I just hope they don't fuck over "Happy Endings" in season 3 and give it the treatment they are giving "Cougar Town" this season.

I feel like we're not going to know Cougar Town's fate until upfronts, unfortunately.

Awesome news. Love me some Revenge and Happy Endings. And Modern Family too. I'm not one of the negative nellys that hates it now.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
I see Netflix has picked up the River, and decided not to pick up Terra Nova. I think the cost was too great for them to pick up Terra Nova. So, will this be a new trend for Netflix? To pick up these type of shows and try to provide original programing for their streaming service? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if they picked up either or both Fringe and/or Alcatraz if they get cancelled.

That hasn't happened yet. They are just in talks, just like they were with "Terra Nova" (which didn't end up happening as the show is now officially done).

Why couldn't Netflix be doing this back when Veronica Mars was canceled?

Netflix existed then. They just didn't offer streaming. I wish they'd pick up Cougar Town, which will likely be a goner .

Shows like the River and Alcatraz don't really cost that much and would give Netflix some original shows. I am not sure what the costs of Cougar Town are, although it would give them a comedy series.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
As much as I love Cougar Town, I think serialized dramas and not comedies are in Netflix's best interest if it wants to try this whole original programming thing

I haven't seen DirecTV bragging about their acquisitions anywhere

I haven't seen DirecTV bragging about their acquisitions anywhere I think it will depend on how it works out for them. Netflix is different because it is trying to argue you don't need cable and can watch original programing on their service. They are trying to position themselves as an alternative to the networks.
