Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
I thought Walt was gong to kill both Hank and Jesse during last nights episode at certain points. Cranston is fucking scary. But I'm not sure he could ever do that to Jesse, whom he probably regards higher than his real family now. If Jesse dies, everybody is going to die, and Walter is saving that ricin for himself.

Chekhov's Gun needs to be renamed Gilligan's Ricin.

Or if the blaze of glory plan doesn't work out, he takes it right before he's arrested just to deny Hank his prosecution. Assuming Hank is still alive at that point. Somebody animated Badger's Star Trek script. http://video.vulture.com/video/Breaking ... k-Scene-An

I am pretty certain that if Breaking Bad won't win Best Drama at the upcoming Emmys (it probably won't), it wil win next year. No way this series ends up with no Emmys for Best Drama.
Also, I'd love for Aaron Paul to win again.

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
Dean Norris is easily the most underrated actor on the show. Cranston, Paul, Esposito, Gunn, Banks all get the (deserved) recognition for BB, but he's been consistently great as Hank, through his many ups and downs. The showdown with the cousins only works because we believe Hank is capable of defending himself, unarmed, against two homicidal criminals, and we only believe it because of Norris.

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
Which character do you feel for the most & don't want to see die? Mine would be Jessie....the obvious one lol
I hope they don't go Games of Thrones style n kill him off on the 2nd to last episode

Magnus wrote: And then of course the end scene. What's most striking about it is that Walter LETS Hank beat him up with almost no resistance. He acts like the Walter White of S1. Heisnburg would never let Hank beat him up, at least not without some resistance. Walter's attempt convince himself and others that he's S1 Walter White is fasnicating. Even after all the stuff he's done, he actually believes that all the wrong he did does not matter anymore and he can start fresh. There's still a little bit of Heisenberg throughout that scene though. Not the whole thing, but it's definitely the prideful side of him that makes him turn back around as he's leaving and show off the tracking device, and again with that very final line. Where thing go from here will be extremely interesting to watch...

I think Walt tries not to be Heisenberg, but he can't help it. He is what he is now.

Also, I'd love for Aaron Paul to win again. It would be a tragedy if this show didn't win Best Drama at least once. Should've won more. But if it does lose in both seasons, it's because it's too gritty and unpredictable for the average voter.

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
Is it just me or is the hype for this show right now just out of this world? I don't know how it is in the US, but what I notice around me and online is that there is WAAAYYY more buzz on this final season of Breaking Bad than on any of the previous ones. And I mean BY A LOT. Like...I can't remember anything in television that people have been so hyped for since the final season of Lost.

Though its mainly just with young people and online savvy. As big as the show may seem, it still isn't really THAT big in terms of just sheer numbers. Its rating numbers doubled from last years season finale to the last episode. It went from 3 million to close to 6 million viewers. What tv show has ever done that as in doubling not just one season but one episode to the next?

Funny that The Walking Dead is still wiping its ass with GoT and Breaking Bad in ratings. Kinda crazy.

Dead got so much better once Daranbount left, season 3 was pretty boss. Yet even at it's peak it will never come close to Breaking Bad, Thrones or Mad Men. That is just the way of the world.

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
Yeah, HBO has only 28 million subscribers and it's estimated that overall 13.6 million of them have watched season 3 of Game of Thrones. The show would be much more massive if access wasn't so limited. Still, all three shows are definitely successful in their own ways, if on different levels. The explosion of interest in Breaking Bad has been incredible though. 2-3 years ago the show barely registered on a cultural level. Then this summer when I was backpacking in Europe it was probably the most talked-about show when I would discuss TV with fellow backpackers, even European ones. It's the first show in ages to be going out at the height of its popularity, maybe since Friends.

It was very popular obviously in its last season but it wasn't at its peak. True, but it was closer to its peak than pretty much any show to end in the last 10-15 years. Granted, most of that has to do with the economics of American TV - running a show until it's no longer profitable, then finally ending it usually at least 2-3 years too late. It helped Breaking Bad that the decision for it to end was made pretty much right before the show exploded in popularity (though considering how limiting the premise is, AMC and Gilligan were probably going to finish then anyway).

Breaking Bad is becoming huge in Germany among people aged 20-40. All articles I have written on the show are pulling amazing numbers.
