I kind of lean towards Fringe since it is close to syndication. There have been rumors they might give it 13-15 episodes. Also will any other network bite on Terra Nova? NBC would be the only one who might consider it since things are so dire there. Terra Nova's ratings would be great for them.

No, I can't see any possible way FOX renews Fringe. House repeats would do better on Friday. Fringe is currently doing worse than TSCC when it got canned. I'm not sure what kind of syndication prospects Fringe has. It's heavily serialized and a niche show. Can't see it being worth much in syndication. Plus it already has 4 seasons. These days that's enough.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
Terra Nova was a worthy experiment in bigger budget sci-fi fare on a big network, but the ratings were never above mediocre. Not surprised at the cancellation. A number of their dramas pull the same numbers with a fraction of the budget.

I just hope FOX doesn't shy away from shows like Terra Nova, Alcatraz, Touch next year due to them doing disappointing numbers this year (of course Touch not included, hopefully that one pans out).

FOX really tried hard this year.
On the downside, unless FOX is content losing money, Fringe is toast.

WB would basically have to give Fringe to FOX for free. I'm not really sure they sell those ads during Fringe for much. I guess we will see.

Looks like Netflix is thinking about showing new episodes of Terra Nova http://www.eonline.com/news/watch_with_ ... topstoriesThat could be interesting, Netflix might be trying to get more people to sign on to their streaming plan.

In non-US based television news, the British "Skins," which is currently airing its sixth season, will end next year with a trio of two-hour specials involving each of the three main casts that have appeared throughout the series' run.
LOVED the first two seasons of this series and still watch - it's gotten progressively worse but I'm excited to at least see the first generation cast members again.

YES YES YES re: The Good Wife's renewal. It was the only CBS show that was in doubt that I cared about.

The only bubble shows on CBS now are "A Gifted Man" (likely done), "Unforgettable" (a long shot), the other two "CSI" series, "Rules of Engagement" and "Rob."

I'm thinking they're all gone (the CSIs have to be getting incredibly expensive at this point), unless CBS expands their sitcom base next season and brings perennial utility player Rules of Engagement back and tries to dump it on Saturdays again or something.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
I'm actually surprised Miami and NY are both getting canned (I think they would already get renewed with CSI if they wanted).
I never doubtwd TGW renewal. It racked in 16 Emmy noms in two seasons (8 noms each season- the only broadcast show to get a nom for best drama last year!!!!!). It's one season away from the magic fourth season for syndication. CBS would be nuts if they didn't bite the bullet for this one.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
I would imagine Good Wife also has a largely affluent, upscale audience, even if it's largely older. Contrary to what the smug folks who run TV By the Numbers seem to believe, I don't think syndication prospects is all that matters for renewal.

Happy for Good Wife. Hopefully the CSI's will get canned. The fewer procedurals the better.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
I never felt TGW was in danger either. Too much critical acclaim and fairly decent viewership numbers to cancel it. Sure, the 18-49 demo is low, but that's it.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
CBS was never going to cancel "The Good Wife." Again, it's the only series on a broadcast network that was nominated for an Emmy last year (not counting "Friday Night Lights", which had its first run on DirecTV), and the critical acclaim is enormous.

They still might renew Miami. NY is done though.

They haven't but I think that considering that all 3 CSI's are from the same group of people, they would negotiate renewal at the same time.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
It's not exactly a surprise. During the whole 100th episode promotion pretty much everyone was saying that The CW had told them to expect a renewal for a sixth season. And also all the actors' contracts are up at the end of the sixth year and have stated that it 'seems like a natural place to end it.' Wonder if they plan on airing it in the spring or fall if it is indeed a 13 episode order. This also opens up the door for one of the many promising pilots they have in development.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
"Grimm" has been renewed for a second season.
There is speculation that NBC will announce several other pickups this afternoon, similar to when CBS renewed "Blue Bloods" a few days ago before announcing the other renewals a few hours later.

Good . I hope 90210 is renewed too . I haven't been watching this season of 90210 except at the beginning but then I fell behind, and I'm still at the beginning of Season 4 of Gossip Girl but I enjoy it. The more the merrier.
