Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
I mean, aside from Denise, the show has been really quiet as far as deaths go, and no one MAJOR has bit it in a long time. One has to assume that all this "ZOMG MOST AWESMOE FINAEL EVRE!!!1" buzz is actually going to pay off this time.

Another cop out of an episode, I hope it loses viewers next season.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
Negan isn't terrifying. I'm more confused how all these people even follow him.
As far as this death, it's a cop out to not be displayingoing the death visually so it's 100%. This bull honky 1st person view was ridiculous.
The episode was anticlimactic. Why didn't they just turn around and go back to alexandria?
Finally, of all people to kill why would you kill carl. If you want these people to be under your dominion I don't think killing ricks son makes a lick of sense.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
Sooooo frustrating. I thought JDM was amazing as Negan and I'm so excited for what's to come. Negan is awesome in the comics and that intro was perfect.... But fuck that ending. Certain shows can do that and most of the time I love cliffhangers but this wasn't the scene to break up into two. This was supposed to be their "Red Wedding" and they lost it.

That was such bulllllshiiiit. The buildup was good but the whole blood on the screen thing twice in a row? No.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
I enjoyed the first hour. LOVED the last 29.5 minutes. HATED that they didn't do an overhead pan out shot of the body.
They did this to try and puff up the ratings for the season premiere... It will have the opposite effect. People are pissed.

Probably because Maggie is DYING.

I don't think I have seen people this pissed about a season or series finale online since either "Dexter" or "How I Met Your Mother" ended.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
It truly is a fuckup. I mean they do know (mostly) everyone will keep watching but it's just so infuriating because it's one of the worst possible things they could've ended the episode with.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
They really are milking the show. This is like Life of David Gale lame. People are going to find out eventually who died as soon as it starts filming anyway since the "dead" actor will just show up for a few days of filming as opposed to weeks

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
I thought the episode was great up until the final 30 seconds. I even made peace with the fact that Negan, after losing so many of his "saviors", would only take one of Rick's crew and kill them. But to not even show the person is insulting. To me, that's not a cliffhanger. That's a show that's undecided on who to kill off. And if that had been a regular episode, I thought the ending was fantastic.
Actually I'll go one further: if cast and crew hadn't made such a fuss about how amazing the finale would be, and how shocking it would be, I would probably be vehemently defending it today. But no. To me, that's really fucking with the fans. It's like they suddenly bought into their own hype and decided to do something self-indulgent.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
Thats the problem with the show. It tries to over extend the plot line devices. It literally took almost 5 episodes for us to find out if Glenn was dead.
I won't be surprised if we don't find out who was killed by Negan until the 6th episode next season as some person in reddit posted in the following
Episode 1: Gabriel and Spencer debate making a deal with Negan
Episode 2: We catch up with Morgan and Carol and learn about the people they are with
Episode 3: We get to see what Jesus is up to at the hilltop
Episode 4: Flashback showing Negan's origin
Episode 5: Part 2 of Negan's origin
Episode 6: Reveal who died

If we don't find out who dies on Ep1 next season, I might be out. And I love the show.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
Here's what should have happened:
Morgan dies. His character has served its purpose now. The big revelation that he killed to save someone is meaningless and doesn't interest me. Kill him off.
Eugene dies. Should have been dead when Rick's crew arrived at the end.
Maggie dies. Glenn retaliates. Glenn dies.
Negan tells Rick those three weren't part of his plan to even the score. Does Eeny Meeny Miney Mo. At that point, do the POV thing at the end.
Lot of bloodshed. But man, you had to make Negan's presence known. If he just ends up killing off Aaron, what a waste.

Of course not. But neither should the current writers.

Actually, I'm probably unloading on the wrong people. Maybe Scott M. Gimple has served his purpose as showrunner. Maybe it's time to change it up again.

I watched the ending again and it's actually so brilliantly executed. Just not for this finale.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
I'd be fine with it if it was a midseason finale. Hell, I'd be fine with it if it was a series finale because TROLLOLOLOL.
But man, a pan out with an aerial shot of the beating/body would've been chilling/perfect.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
Even more than the cliffhanger, I was annoyed by how loquacious Negan was. The scene embraced the cliché of the Sure-He-Has-Won Evil Character Delivers a Monologue to the point of self-parody.
Most of the episode, though, is very engaging and tense.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
They haven't film the actual death scene yet. At this point I beieve that they are observing fan reactions to decide whom they will actually kill off when the show returns. I don't believe them that they have devided on the victim already.

Which I'm still fine with, except all word from the TWD camp for months is that the finale would be epic and bloody and heartbreaking. And because of the internet, if they decide to kill off someone big, it's going to be known very quickly.

Based on filming a movie at the same time as the next season, and how it would match the comics if this was the person, there's speculation victim is likely

That's who it was supposed to be! That's who most expected! The fact that they didn't show it still annoys me.
