I don't know if it's just me, but over the past year, I've become very bored with the lineup.

There's absolutely nothing to watch anymore. The only show that I actually watch is The Apprentice, but other than that, everything's just old or stupid. There was a time where I would come home from school at 3PM, turn on the TV, and leave it on until I fall asleep around midnight. Now, my TV doesn't even turn on until atleast 10PM, and that's to watch re-runs of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air (it's the only good show worth watching these days...). I love The Simpsons (favorite show ever), and that's all I watch during the day.

Anyone else feelin' this way?

Zingy, you just don't watch the right shows.

Desperate Housewives, Lost, The Amazing Race.

You should at least watch Lost, I think you would really dig it.

I feel the same way, zing. I haven't been hooked on any show for the longest time. Used to be hooked on the amazing race but then they milked it hardcore with like 2 seasons a year.

That's because Mexico is just getting the shows that we had 10 years ago.

I was very tired of TV for the last few years but this last season is the best in a decade I thought. Lost, Numbers, NCIS, Two and a Half Men, the new Office, things are looking up finally after years of a dry spell.

Before this season, I was truly hooked to one show: American Idol. But that show is a love it or hate it show, so give it a try, and see if you like it.

But I also reccommend Desperate Housewives, Lost and Scrubs. These are one of the few shows that dont involve "reality", or "sitcom" in their genre.

Zingy, I know exactly how you feel. Until just recently, I had completely given up watching weekly TV, and was exclusively Sportscenter, some VH-1, and other stuff that really didn't dictate any schedules to me. I usually would catch the late night talk shows, but only because I was home and up, but primetime stuff became something I could have cared less about. I wasn't and still won't miss a baseball game because "my show" is coming on. Those days are gone. It just was not worth my time, and I started finding the computer time to be more and more enjoyable, so I didn't miss it at all.

Little by little, I started watching a few things in primetime, like Desperate Housewives, all based off Nicholette's car washing scene, and Boston Legal, which followed it. Sunday nights, I was home with nothing better to do. I'll occassionally see something else on and watch, but I'm not a fan of reality TV that has gripped the nation, so shows like American Idol, Fear Factor,Survivor, and The Amazing Race don't really get considered by me, as I've never been sold on any of them by people who love them. I have seen The Apprentice a few times, but the only point of interest is watching the reaction of who gets fired, so the last 5 minutes is all that needs viewed. Laughed in hysterics as that angry Chris guy cried like a little girl last week when he was fired.

Well, if you're TV's not turning on till 10, you're missing Scrubs, ER, Alias, Arrested Development, Lost, Desperate Housewives, The Amazing Race, and the occasional Friends repeat.

:)

To name a few.

First start with The Amazing Race. It's the most accessible.

You may be a little out-of-the-loop to jump right into Lost and Desperate Housewives, but at least people here will think you're cool (finally!) for watching them.

Not by watching reality TV. [-( The networks are all laughing at that group of viewers, as they are still making a fortune, and aren't having to pay out those big star salaries.

*runs off before I pay for making that remark*

I would tend to agree, but not about The Amazing Race. That show has (I believe) won three straight Emmys for Outstanding Reality Series.

Also, Zingy, both Lost and Desperate Housewives are preparing hour-long "cliff notes" episodes stringing together past episodes into one episode, sort of, in order to catch anyone who started late or plans on watching up. That'd be a way to jump into them.

oops...didn't mean to diss your show there. Don't mind what I said, I was drinking heavily when I typed that last night. It was only water, but that's beside the point.

I have paid absolutely no attention to what that show is even about. It sounds like a bunch of people get on a bike and try to go from point A to point B faster than the others, while setting traps and such for the competition along the way. :-k

No way, man. They traveled from Africa to India in just one episode last week. Just watch it this upcoming Tuesday and you'll love it forever, heh.

If I can possibly work it in Tuesday, I'll watch it and see what the heck excites you so much. I have to tell you, though, I have yet to not be bored to tears by reality TV. What time does it come on?
