For me, one big surprise is I have stopped watching Smallville for Lost. I hope that isn't a mistake.

I think the biggest surprise is how little I miss 24 and Alias, thanks to Lost and Desperate Housewives, although I don't miss them for different reasons. I don't miss Alias because I actually skipped Season 3 and waited for the DVD, so I have loads of time to catch up, and I don't miss 24 because I'll prefer not having to wait once it starts. It will be non-stop once it returns.

I'm surprised at ABC's success with Lost and Desperate Housewives
I'm also surprised at how well survivor is doing, with an average of 19.2 million viewers per episode in its 9th season. People have been saying the next season of survivor is going to bomb since Survivor 4, but it hasn't happened yet

I agree on Survivior.

On Housewives, I am wondering how many "women" are making this their show and in fact making it a ratings hit.

So what's the verdict on CSI:NY. I have stopped watching and made that night a bar night. For the first 3, I wasn't impressed.

If it turms out that it is good, based on feedback, I will catch up by taping over the summer repeat season.

Demographics show that more men than women are watching Desperate Housewives believe it or not.

OK. But are more women watching then the watch other shows, it still could be increasing.

Also can you post the place where you find these numbers, they would be interesting to look at.

Surprised at how slack NBC was in coming up with new shows. Especially on Thursday nights which they once ruled not just with ratings but with quality.

My can't miss shows of the year are Lost, Desperate Housewives, Survivor, SNL (not so much can't miss, but I always videotape it), and sometimes CSI. I have missed CSI several times, have yet to even see a new episode of Miami, and missed this week's New York. I'll probably add Alias, 24, and Arrested Development to the list, too.

I tried so hard to watch it, but missed the first year, and I feel I couldn't get into it, and I've got enough shit to buy on DVD, so I'll have to wait till I see reruns in order to watch it.

Must see's are all of these. I've already invested some time in to watching them and damned if I'm going to stop now.

Monday
Las Vegas
Everybody Loves Raymond
Two and a Half Men
24 (Starting January)
CSI: Miami

Tuesday
American Idol (Starting January)
The Amazing Race
Law and Order: Special Victims Unit

Wednesday
Lost
Jack & Bobby
American Idol - Results show (Starting February)
The West Wing
Law and Order

Thursday
Survivor: Vanuatu
The Apprentice
The O.C. (Starting Nov I think)
ER

Friday
Stargate SG1

Sunday
Desperate Housewives
The Simpsons
Alias (January?)

If I were to rank them in order of must see, I guess they would be....

08. Alias (ABC)
07. 24 (Fox)
06. The O.C. (Fox)
05. The Apprentice (NBC)
04. Lost (ABC)
03. Desperate Housewives (ABC)
02. Stargate SG1 (SciFi)
01. Jack & Bobby (WB)

Yup i'm watching Boston Legal. The episodes are getting a lot better, but i was expecting a lot more. They said that it was going to be a mix between ally mcbeal and the practice. But i think by them going midway, they are losing what was really good from each one. The practice dealt with many good issues, and ally mcbeal was over the top funny.

I want to try and watch, because you got Spader, Shatner and Mark Valley, but I believe in Canada, it's on at the same time as Housewives, on Global and CTV, respectively.
