TAR: Season 8 premieres on September 27th. Apparently, there were production issues related to the casting of children. In addition, the show seems to have ditched the globetrotting in favor of North American destinations.

Sounds like something more suited for the Discovery Children cable network. :nonono:

What's the fun in visiting Alabama and South Carolina? Doesn't seem very amazing.

I know they don't want to expose 12 year olds to sleep deprivation. But COME ON!!!!

Who at CBS thought this was a good idea, and why didn't anyone else stop them? This had disaster written all over it from the get go. Thankfully TAR 1 comes out on DVD around that time, so I can just watch that instead - if the premiere doesn't give me hope.

There seems to be some comparisons drawn by CBS to the All-Star edition of Survivor. My thing is, I would love to see some of the tougher TAR teams from the past 7 seasons go head to head in the harshest locales on Earth for $ 2 Million. That's a much better (if not more expensive) concept than having families fly around the US, Canada, and Central America.

Because that concept it still The Amazing Race, what they have done by staying in North America is really not the show. I can't see many language barriers needing to be broken or the sense of hopelessness that we have in previous races if they stay in North America. Going to Boise, just doesn't hold the same excitement that China, England, South Africa, Hong Kong or any other place TAR has gone to in the past does. I'd still love to see an Allstar TAR, but this is just about as far away from the idea as you can get.

I don't get CBS' comparison to Survivor Allstars, because that show more or less stayed the same. People on an island, challenges, voting. All the same. They even expanded it, not shrink it which is was TAR8 seems to be doing. Morons.
