 Question about Veronica Mars
I was watching Big Brother, and a commercial popped up saying that Veronica Mars was coming to CBS Friday's. Is that because UPN sold the show to CBS, or did they just sell the rights to air repeats? Thanks in advance .

It would be INCREDIBLY awesome to see Veronica Mars permanently jump to CBS, but it's not... for now. UPN is apparently like a cousin network or sister network to CBS. UPN used to air reruns of The Amazing Race, I believe, but only briefly a few years ago. Now, UPN is going to get CBS to air a few episodes of Veronica Mars (four to six, I believe), to give it more exposure. Excellent idea, and I hope it works out. I'm just getting the show in Canada (up to Episode 9) and it's excellent!

Ok, well, I'm glad they're gonna air repeats. I wanted to watch it from the beginning on UPN, but something went wrong. I saw the first episode on the first Tuesday, then the second episode the next day on Wednesday, which would be it's new night. I missed the next Wednesday, and came back the Wednesday after that for what SHOULD have been the fourth episode. Instead, it was the January 14th episode, I believe, which is obviously not the fourth episode. So I just gave up watching it.

Actually, for some dumb reason UPN only aired the first episode on that Tuesday and the next night was the sixth episode.
And I saw an ad tonight too. It was like, "One of TV's most talked about shows is coming to CBS!" I didn't know what that was all about, but I would be so pleased if THEY would air it from the beginning because this would be killer exposure for it.

There will be two episodes of VERONICA MARS tonight on CBS. The first one is the pilot so if you haven't seen that one yet I recommend checking it out. But I say skip the next one because it's not the second episode. It's one from later in the season.
Still, I hope these can do awesome ratings for a Friday night on CBS.

From Zap2it.com about Friday:
NBC Takes Friday; 'Mars' OK for CBS (Saturday, July 30 08:38 AM) LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Fast National ratings for Friday, July 29, 2005 NBC won the ratings race Friday, but the more interesting battle was between cult favorites "Veronica Mars" and "Arrested Development," with the former's run on CBS winning out.
NBC led the night with a 4.2 rating/8 share. ABC finished second at 3.5/7, followed by CBS at 2.7/5. UPN snuck into fourth with a 2.3/5, and FOX and The WB tied for fifth at 1.4/3. ABC took the top spot among adults 18-49 with a 1.7 rating. NBC was a close second at 1.6, followed by CBS, 1.1, and UPN, 1.0. FOX averaged 0.9 and The WB 0.8.
"Dateline," 4.5/10, won the 8 p.m. hour for NBC. Reruns of "8 Simple Rules," 2.7/6, and "Hope & Faith," 2.8/6, put ABC in second. A showing of "Veronica Mars" on CBS (a Viacom sibling of the show's usual home, UPN) averaged 2.5/5, good enough for third. UPN came in fourth with the movie "Gang of Roses." Two episodes of "Arrested Development" averaged 1.5/3 for FOX. The WB trailed with "What I Like About You" and "Blue Collar TV."
Things stayed pretty much the same at 9 p.m., with "Dateline" improving slightly to 4.7/9 to hold its lead. ABC averaged 2.8/5 with a second "Hope & Faith" and "Less Than Perfect." Another hour of "Veronica Mars" on CBS came in at 2.3/5, tying for third with UPN's movie. A second hour of "Arrested Development" on FOX tied for fifth with The WB's "Reba" and "Living with Fran."
At 10 p.m., ABC's "20/20" posted the night's highest rating, 5.1/10. A "Crossing Jordan" rerun on NBC averaged 3.4/7, edging CBS' "Numb3rs," 3.3/7.
Nice for VERONICA MARS!
