Post Upfront Wrap-Up
Coming off the network's week of Upfront presentations, here are my impressions.

The Show with the Most Buzz - Everybody Hates Chris

The Weakest Network - NBC who kept their weak Thurs. night, and has the weakest sounding new shows, particularly Fathom (scary sea creatures? Lake Bell?), Three Wishes and Inconcievable.

The Strongest Network - CBS was already strong. So strong that the two shows they dumped, Amy and Joan, would have been nowhere near cancellation anywhere else. I think Threshold (it has Brent Spiner in it, and some other Trek connections along with Carla Gugino) is one of the strongest SciFi entries, and How I Met Your Mother (with Alyson Hannigan and Neil Patrick Harris) is one of the strongest comedies (behind Everybody Hates Chris.)

Boldest Move - The WB moving Smallville and Everwood to Thurs. I think those two shows will hold their audience. Smallville was not as damaged by Lost last year as one would think, so it seems to have a tight hold on it's audience.

Biggest Mistake - ABC moving its rejuvenated Alias to Thurs with so many other cult shows on at the same time, The OC, Smallville and Survivor. I think this is essentially dooming Night Stalker. (Actually, Night Stalker might have been doomed from the moment they cast Stuart Townsend as Carl Kolchak, but that's beside the point.)

Head to Head Matchup that are going to drive people crazy:

Lost vs. Veronica Mars (Though I know which one I'll watch ;) )

Everbody Hates Chris vs. Joey & Survivor & The OC & Smallville & Alias.

Willow vs. Xander (Alyson Hannigan's How I Met Your Mother is head to head Monday's at 8:30 against Nicholas Brendan's Kitchen Confidential.)

Non Head to Head Matchup that will be interesting:

Medium vs Ghost Whisperer (They sound like the same damn show.)

Invasion vs. Threshold vs. Fathom (They also sound like damn near the same show.)

Supernatural vs. Night Stalker (Pretty damn close to being the same damn show.)

Shows I think are doomed Commander in Chief (Gina Davis?), Just Legal (Don Johnson?) Freddie (Freddie Prinze Jr.?)

Show's I'm pretty sure I'll check out:

Everybody Hates Chris
How I Met Your Mother
Bones
Supernatural
Invasion
Threshold
The Night Stalker
Fathom

PS - Thank God for the TV Forum this week, because I have a headache from all the Star Wars Loonies.

That, my friends, is fucking insane.

Yikes. Thursday at 8 is not going to be pretty.

I'm now intrigued by Everybody Hates Chris.

I also really need to buy a Tivo, since all these shows seem to be going head-to-head.

I just heard aboujt Everybody Hates Chris. Sounds like a comedy I'll actually watch. It'll be funny if this is the new Everybody Loves Raymond.
