Re: What are you watching right now?
Binged "The Mosquito Coast" on Apple. I actually really dug the first season, the second was kind of a slog but overall I enjoyed it and it's a shame it was axed. Really brilliant production value too.
I've also been watching "Matlock" which is surprisingly fun, and just started "Lockerbie" today.

Also, this season of "Silo" is awful and a huge waste of Rebecca Ferguson. It's almost over and nothing has happened.

Just in the last few years! Taylor Sheridan is busy.
To that I say, keep em coming! How would you rank these?

Landman - I guess I liked the first episode more than Yellowstone's because it's funnier and Billy Bob is on fire, still good not great though.

Having now seen 7 episodes while not high art this is a pretty entertaining show. Ali Larter and the daughter are both hilarious and the former's chemistry with BBT is gold, and the show is ok with just making the characters hang out in the bar or at home having entertaining one liner dialog for long stretches hence Sheridan can bang out these episodes. The son is the weak point. I feel like this is what it's like to be a fan of one of the Showtime shows with the families except better dialog.

Re: What are you watching right now?
The Reacher season 3 plot seems pretty good so far but they may have fucked up the female lead this time by going full Boston accent: The movie.

Re: What are you watching right now?
I'm enjoying season 3 of "Reacher" but I agree with the above. The female lead is awful. It's still much better than season 2 though.
Recently binged and caught up with "The Pitt" and I'm obsessed.
Most overrated show of the year would have to be "Paradise," which feels like one of those Lost wannabe retread shows from the late 2000s that were canceled after one season. The season finale was laughably bad.

Watched episode 5 of "The White Lotus" which was iconic.
I watched the first three episodes of "Long Bright River" which I'm really enjoying. Amanda Seyfried is great.

First two episodes of the Studio were pretty fun, although the Scorsese stuff felt a bit silly to me. The Kool Aid Man movie parts and the Greta Lee/Sarah Polley episodes were great stuff.

This had some weaker episodes and doesn't have the most modes, but Rogen dating a doctor and going to event with a bunch of snobby ones delivered.

"Overcompensating" is my favorite show of the year. Hilarious, fun as hell and heartfelt, with an absolutely beaming ensemble of great characters. Episode 5's ending made me burst into tears. I need a season 2 ASAP.

Re: What are you watching right now?
The Your Friends and Neighbors Hamm show is pretty mid, although watchable when it's doing comedic rich people caricatures. Another show that feels like a Showtime plot with lead doing pesky thing like stealing from his rich friends while narrating, with the ex wife character he's probably going to end up banging again sometime (Amanda Peet), hot daughter, emo son and meds sister. I think I'd rather just see him as investor in his prime and tennis dad.

Re: What are you watching right now?
I watched all of "Forever" yesterday which I mostly really enjoyed. Both of the leads were great. Her performance was solid but Karen Pittman as the mother was an absolutely insufferable character. Not sure this needed a season 2 but I'll watch it for sure. Lovie Simone is a star.
I also watched the first episode of "Duster." It was solid, but I won't be continuing despite being a J.J. Abrams apologist. I haven't seen a show that's so obviously DOA in quite some time in terms of cancellation prospects.

I hope it course corrects in season 2 because it definitely is glossy entertainment when it wants to be.
