It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Season 13 and 14
I just binged these two seasons and obviously Season 13 was missing a lot of Dennis and surprisingly a lot of Frank as well.
Some of the episodes have started to feel usual now.
I loved the ThunderGun episode. Other notable ones were Mindy Kalling Episode, Escape Room episode, texting episode.
I didn't love the endings of both season. I know what they were trying with both but "Mac finds his pride" is too flashy because I still can't see Mac as gay with that duet. The season 14 finale ends up too in your face and just another regular episode with the hint that the gang will be back.

I tried watching the first episode of this show and wasn't a big fan
The writers of this have a new show on Apple called Mythic Quest that's pretty good, it also stars Mac. I will be posting a review of it on the mainsite in the next week.

Never judge a show by its first episode. Even Friends and Seinfeld took seasons to hit their groove. Even the Pilot for Sorpranos is pretty bad. Thank God they got rid of Tony's narration.
Once DeVito joined in season 2 the show really started to get pretty hilarious overall.

It gets better as it goes. The comedy is a bit different but once you get used the characters it gets pretty funny because they keep surprising you.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Season 13 and 14
Pilots for comedies and sitcoms are always a bit tough, Sunny is definitely worth giving a few more episodes a shot. The show really does pick up in S2 when DeVito is added. These last 2 seasons, I think have lost their luster, there some funny bits and some episodes are still pretty good, but it's just not a good anymore. A final season would be nice, but it feels time to wrap it up.

New seasons have been hit and miss. The one without Dennis is definitely the all time worst season though. But I remember liking the episode at the zoo last year. And Mindy Kaeling was definitely great.

Yes season 13 without Dennis is definitely the worst of the 14 seasons but in that season Devito was also not around, does anyone know the reason why?
The zoo episode was the one where the Gang texts and that is definitely the highlight. I died out of laughter at the Thundergun Episode which I believe is Episode 2 of Season 14.

He made another show with Patton Oswalt called AP Bio. Not connected to Always Sunny, but it may as well have been. It’s basically Dennis as a substitute teacher.

I knew about Glenn, my question was for Devito was also missing in many episodes of Season 13 specially towards the end.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Season 13 and 14
The last three seasons all kind of suffered from that. Charlie was directing and appearing in movies. Olsen starred on the Mick, Dennis was AP Bio, the other was working on two other shows. They put it to a point where they can do the 10 episodes relatively simple and they know they need to look beyond the series. The move to FXX put the shows financial pros to a minimum. Devito will be 76 this year, and the show definitely pushes him the hardest.
While the series is in more of an autopilot mode akin to something like South Park, It's still better than most. Sunny always had more a sketch type format and only 10 episodes means the quality is still above par for most. It's the double edge sword of having a show that really has no plot arcs or anything to really move towards a wrap. But thats the funny thing about Sunny, they could get away with "Gang wraps everything up" type of season that would work.

Time's Up For the Gang (Season 13) is an all timer for the show.
