Killgrave is definitely the best, scariest, most complicated, and most captivating antagonist in Marvel's cinematic/television universe to date.

Yes.

In fact, I would even go as far as to say that he is all that but actually applied to all comic book adaptations post-TDK.

Yep.

The show itself might even be a contender for the best Netflix show so far.

Watched the pilot and liked it a lot. The PI stuff is sooooo Veronica Mars. Especially her comments.

As much as I dig the first season of Jessica Jones, I must say: I am not particularly excited for the Luke Cage series. I found the character rather bland here.

After two great series, I have no reason at all not to trust Netflix/Marvel on that.

I thought it was great after first three episodes. Then it kinda went down a lot. It became too repetitive (Jessica captures Kilgrave, he escapes, Jessica captures Kilgrave, he escapes, Jessica captures Kilgrave, he escapes, Jessica captures Kilgrave, he escapes) and also some characters are especially unrealistically dumb (Hogarth) which I don't want to see in any good show.

Also there are some glaring bad acting moments. When Hogarth gets cut for the first time she makes such a strange noise and moves her head so bad, and then she falls funny on the sofa. I've repeated that scene 50 times and laughed. Moments later Jessica takes some alcohol from the bottle which was closed or something as it's obvious she didn't take a sip and still makes a move of drying her mouth. And moments like that keep on happening more and more towards the end of the show.

Also Robyn. Couldn't someone strangle her?

I'm four episodes in. Great stuff so far. Yet the constant feeling of dread is making it a slow burn. I realy don't want Tricia to die, but it's so obviously gonna happen. It's so Killgrave to make that cop fall in love with her and then kill her because Killgrave is the dick of the century. I would probably bet money that it will happen in the very next episode. :tears: :tears: :tears:

The music is outstanding and deserves commendment in every post. That opening theme gets me pumped every time. It will certainly help to know its coming after Tricia dies.

Netflix are on a role (Narcos, Daredevil, HoC etc). This is a fantastic show and I enjoyed it immensely. I'd rank it behind Daredevil overall but this is a little more entertaining in a cartoonish way. Have to hand it to Tennant he perfectly plays Kilgrave as a menacing villain with a hint of naivety. In lesser hands the character would have been too campy.

Look forward to Defenders but agree with David, the Luke Cage standalone doesn't strike me as something that will be interesting as the character cones across rather one note.

Detective Guy, Wendy and Hope all in one episode? JJ really went Game of Thrones season 5 finale on us jeez.

The biggest complaint I've heard about JJ is that it is too long, and it does feel like the next episode should be the finale. We will see.

I'm glad I lost money on my Trish bet and she wasn't involved in the halfing.

Predictions before i watch finale:

-Killgrave will live but have his powers somehow removed
-Arthur will be the only regular to die. Maybe Carrie Anne Moss' hot blonde secretary will get shanked in prison, but I think its equally likely this storyline won't even come up.
-Luke bails and makes a less interesting tv show

It's like this is your second TV show ever. JJ is a bit on the predictable side so I'm amazing how wrong you are every time.

2/3 of my predictions were right. :P That kill shot was worth being wrong for. I just figured they'd do the same ending as Daredevil, the only other show I've ever watched. :P

Fantasic show overall. Much more consistent than Daredevil, though I'd still take DD's episode 4-6 peak over anything.

Almost a month removed from finishing it, I would describe season one as solid-but-flawed (pacing issues, a few annoying peripheral characters [brother and sister upstairs, Luke Cage at times]), but buoyed by David Tennant's incredible performance and the genuinely warm chemistry between Jessica Jones and Trish Walker.

I prefer Daredevil overall.

I've made my love for Rachael Taylor obvious enough. And everyone else has rightfully done so for David Tennant. Ritter is on another level though. I didn't truly notice until episode 3 or 4, the one with the flashback of the night she met Kilgrave. For the first time I thought to myself "oh hey, it's Kristen Ritter". That moment put Kilgrave over even more as a villain, which didn't seem possible after the Hope murders her own parents bit. But literally robbed Jessica of her self. And Ritter sells this perfectly throughout the series. Through her ups and downs I only saw Jessica and her decisions made sense no matter how frustrating.

I think she will win the emmy for this.

That would be awesome

so it took me 8 months to finish Daredevil (lol) but I devoured this in 4 days. SO good. The last few episodes were a little underwhelming but I loved watching this. David Tennant and Krysten Ritter were amaazing.
