 Falling Skies (TNT)
Anyone catch the premiere?
It's a decent enough genre show. Certainly better than shit like V and The Event and whatever else we've had over the past few seasons. The Spielberg influence is definitely felt (it's basically War of the Worlds if the aliens didn't all catch cold), and the human resistance stuff is basically Terminator Salvation with aliens instead of robots (and no nuclear holocaust). Nothing ground-breaking, but entertaining enough. Noah Wyle is good and Will Patton is always welcome.
I'll keep watching for now.

I might try to catch up in a few weeks. I had a thing for Noah Wyle (he was so adorkable!) throughout ER's run.

 Re: Falling Skies (TNT)
It's decent. Similar in a lot of ways to The Walking Dead, though not as amazing.
Colin Cunningham's character is the most interesting so far.
It all needs a bit more...oomph, though. I never felt the absolute terror/desperation of the situation in the pilot. Maybe there was just too much standard-issue Spielberg sentimentality (Wyle's youngest son is annoying).

It wasnt awful but it wasnt great either. It just feels too much like Walking Dead just without the awesome zombie and gore. They even recycled the biker red neck plot from Walking Dead. I'll give it a couple of episodes to see where it goes. The acting was pretty bad. It was also unintentionally funny that they queued up melodramatic music over some kids trying out the new skateboards for christ sakes

 Re: Falling Skies (TNT)
Anyone else still watching this?
It's not great, but I still enjoy it. To an extent. They have made a few improvements this season. Their situation feels more dire, more truly apocalyptic. There's a bit more momentum. They've also created a specific alien villain (the red-eyed one) instead of them always being an amorphous, generic threat.

It's a pretty good show but it's baffling that they have so many different weapons that require a wide range of ammo yet they never run out. But, whatever, eh.

 Re: Falling Skies (TNT)
Ha ha, I did not realize the final season was already airing...for over a month. I almost feel a tad guilty because even though this series has always flirted with mediocrity or worse, particularly last year, I have stayed faithful to it and should watch it to the end.
I wish TNT series were on Hulu.
