 Re: True Detective
And another male lead. In fact, Farrell and Vaughn won't be parttners. Vaughn is playing a criminal.

 Re: True Detective
Taylor Kitsch has been rumored for so long. I would also love for the female lead to go to either of the two names that supposedly passed, Rachel McAdams and Elisabeth Moss.
I wonder how the series will fare without the same director. Having the same person at the helm was a major plus IMO.

 Re: True Detective
Just watched the first episode. MM and WH are pretty great together. Some under current of humour and a great, interesting story to unfold. I like it.

 Re: True Detective
I watched it over the span of 2 days. It's incredible moody, has some fantastic dialogues and set-pieces, but overall it didn't wow me like I expected. McConaughey was about as good as it gets and worthy of all the praise, though.

 Re: True Detective
I'm half way. It's pretty gripping stuff. The projects raid/heist (whatever you want to call it) is pretty great TV.

 Re: True Detective
It's worth the watch just for Alexandra Daddario.

 Re: True Detective
It gripped me so I did it one day. Really great TV series. McConaughey is fantastic and deserves the Golden Globe for Best Actor. Harrelson is also great. Monaghan was also very, very good (and hot). The show has incredible dialogue. Some lines in there are so awesomely delivered. The crimes and the way the story unfolds over 17 years are also key to the suspense. McConaughey is such a cool customer, and the way he handles a gun, with such intensity, is perfect for the role. The music was also pretty special. I will look for the soundtrack as some of the tunes were melancholic and beautiful, including the opening theme.
And yes, Alexandra Daddario was hot in this (especially given the situation where she showed her hotness), but Lili Simmons is the hotter one. Man, she is just perfection.

 Re: True Detective
Season 2 with Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams will be interesting. But I don't think they will ever top what I just watched. No way.

That is something I definately agree with you about. You should see her in Banshee. Smoking

 Re: True Detective
The cast for season 2 is, IMO, much stronger than season 1 (with the exception of Vince Vaughn). Very, very excited for McAdams - I hope this role does for her what the first season did for McConaughey since hers is supposed to be the meatiest of the three lead roles.

I just rewatched Season 1 today. It's gripping as fuck. I watch a few minutes and I have to complete the entire 8 hours. A+

 Re: True Detective
Watched season 1 for the first time this weekend, just in time to start with S2. This is without a doubt one of the best shows I've ever seen on tv. Game of Thrones is good, Breaking Bad was great, but neither are as powerful as True Detective in sucking you into the game of who did it. It starts a bit slow, but I have that with every tv-show, you have to get into the characters a bit. From episode 2 on wards it's just near impossible to turn it off. It does goes into a bit of a different direction once they've caught ledoux, but doesn't become any the less interesting. I was hoping for a grander reveal in the last episode, or perhaps more story of how certain events unfolded.
As a whole it's near perfect though, and only the Wire has been able to glue me to the screen like this.
Looking forward to S2 now.
