 Re: "Homeland" (Season 4)
I felt the latest episode chickened out a little after that great embassy invasion. He should have blown the truck sky high regardless of whether Carrie was there. I mean, he seemingly wasn't bothered about killing innocent supporters and bystanders, but when the white chick comes along, killing an international terrorist that killed 50 of their men goes out of the window.
It was still a good episode and I love the show so much, but I wanted more from that. The ending was pretty awesome, though, I must admit, and it could answer so many things from the previous seasons. I had never fully trusted that cunt. Peter Quinn is awesome.

I'm always a week behind, but saw last week's show. Ending was sending my heart racing and was a shocker! Can't wait for the finale.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 4)
The finale isn't exciting. It basically just sets things up for another season. Quinn is back in action, Carrie feels alone again, and Dar and Saul are in cahoot, or so it seems. I am very interested to see how it all unfolds in season five. I cannot ever see myself stop watching Homeland. My subscription was shaky in season three, but I got through it and season 4 redeemed itself.

The finale wasn't the most action-packed hour, but it was great, definitely setting up next season well. And Claire Danes was sensational.

After the best streak Homeland has ever had they come up with this finale? I couldn't have been more bored and even fast forwarded certain parts.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 4)
I believe that Homeland rises above the cliffhanger bullshit that other crappy TV shows fall for, and it showed that with the final episode by opting for a more subdued ending, which still sets up the next season, but doesn't leave its fans panting for more. It's like a brain-check; "Hey, you're watching a mature and serious TV series. It's reserved and patient. You'll be back".

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 4)
I've got no problems with a subdued ending, it's just that I don't care at all about Carrie having a step-brother or some other family issues. And that shit was way too present in the finale.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 4)
Well, Carrie is the central character, and by giving her real-life problems, not only terrorist scumbags, it makes us closer to her and wanting her to be happy. Finding out about a half-brother is a big deal for her as it magnifies how much of a bitch her mother was, which then reflects on how bad a mother Carrie has been/potentially could be. I think it's all relevant.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 4)
It may be relevant, but it still bores me to death, though. I just think they could have come up with something more interesting. I'm no fan of family issues in shows like this. Also hated that in Alias for example.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 4)
It's also relatable for viewers. I, for one, have a half-brother, and I am sure loads of other people like it. Not many people chase terrorists for a living, so adding some grounded stuff in there is nice. But sure, I agree with that it's not the high-octane stuff of episodes 9-11. But then Homeland didn't start that fast-paced in season 1 or 2.
