 Re: True Blood Season 6
I'm not sure I've ever laughed harder at this show (on purpose) than I did during the Sarah Newlin/Tru Blood Lady battle. There were cunt punts! And stiletto heels! And, of course, "Thank you, Jesus." Amazing.

Very fun episode. I have even come around a bit on the Sam/werewolves storyline. He and Alcide's scene at the bar was nicely acted.

The ankle was so 'ooooo' my sis ran out of the room. It was extremely hilarious up til that moment, and then again with her reply to the aftermath. Glad to see Alcide's storyline with Sam come back, they were two of the best parts last year when they were friends.

Terry was a cool character, but, Christ, this funeral is a chore.

I thought the cuts back and forth between Terry's funeral and the vampire camp, leaving aside the 130495 other subplots on this show entirely, was a good narrative choice. Appropriately jarring between somberness and over-the-top gore.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
The finale is called "Radioactive." I wonder if the referenced song is the one by Kings of Leon, the one by Imagine Dragons, the one by Marina and the Diamonds, the one by Jimmy Page's the Firm...
Pulling for Kings of Leon. Pulling for it not to be Imagine Dragons.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
The finale left me scratching my head. I was so pissed Eric met the sun and then...there wasn't even a mention of it in the 6 month time jump? WTF?
And, of course, they finally have Alexander Skarsgard go fleetingly full frontal while he's on fire. Oh, True Blood.
Kind of an inert and oddly abrupt ending to a season that was actually quite good.

I don't think Eric is dead. They didn't show him turn to goo.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
What in the hell was that finale? I just watched it last night and it was so anticlimactic. It was maybe the worst finale they've done so far and this show doesn't have a great track record with season finales to begin with (I'd argue the best was when Tara got shot, though that didn't end up panning out it was easily the most shocking). The six-month time jump served absolutely no purpose.
Also, Eric is definitely not dead. They would have made a much bigger deal of his death if he was dead than what occurred onscreen. Plus, this show won't take that risk and kill off such a popular character even though it really could benefit it in the long run.
Aside from Anna Camp this season was so meh. I hope season 7 is the last.

The episode was weak. The only good part was Warlow getting killed. I was getting really tired of him.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
Fairy Godfather Rutger popping out of the other dimension at the precise right time to grab him was such lazy writing, though.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
I will say this: while the six-months-later insanity felt anticlimactic and disjointed within the context of the finale, maybe it will ultimately prove to be a positive decision next season since we will not have to spend four, five, or maybe even six episodes building up to the same place. If they can deliver a fresh, suspenseful seventh season, I can forgive the writers' abrupt, disorienting hard reboot of the storyline and so many of the characters.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
I read somewhere that someone thinks that Tara's mom has Hep V. Man that'd suck.
The episode was bizzare but the whole season was WAY better than the last couple. Highly doubt Eric's gone.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
I am fairly intrigued by the idea of roving bands of diseased, insane vampires. They could be a potent visceral threat after several seasons largely focused on political tensions (both in human and vampire boardrooms). Maybe True Blood is trying to get in on The Walking Dead's action a bit.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
Feels like Warlow was going to be a multi-season character and Sookie's boyfriend 6 months later, then Rob Kazinsky pulled the ripcord or something. Very rushed heel turn and death and waste of him the last half season otherwise. Also didn't like how a 6,000 year old vampire didn't just flick away Bill with his pinky finger or knock out everyone/rip their heads off in a blink of an eye at Sookie's house, but whatever
Good season, they sort of made the 'absurd amount of plots going on' style work this time

 Re: True Blood Season 6
A lot of WTF moments. Sam as the mayor is definitely hilarious. Wasn't he on the run for a murder years earlier, you'd think the Mayor would have a bigger background checkk.. The hep V thing seems just a little too large in scale to really understand it there right now. I wonder if Eric will come back with Hep V.
I really enjoyed this season. The finale was great outside of the very rushed final 10 minutes. Nothing tops season 2 though when Bill was going to propose and got kidnapped. That was almost 24 level of a cliffhanger.
I love that Bill is back, and the main characters will have to work together it seems for the most part.
