 There is a god: Arrested Dev. to begin production ...the revival of Arrested Development begins production. TODAY. A part of me still refuses to believe this is happening until I can see it with my own eyes. But I guess I'll take them at their word. So exciting. Quote: EXCLUSIVE: The new installment of Arrested Development for Netflix will begin production tomorrow. I’ve learned that the entire cast of Mitch Hurwitz’s cult Fox series — Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat and Tony Hale — are all in final negotiations and expected to return. The original’s producers Imagine TV and 20th Century Fox TV are behind the sequel, with Hurwitz, Troy Miller and Imagine’s Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo set to executive produce the new episodes. Howard also is reprising his role as the series’ narrator. Each of the new episodes follows one member of the Bluth clan, although some episodes may feature multiple characters. Arrested Development will be in production through the fall.
While the new season is envisioned as a bridge between the original series, cancelled by Fox in 2006, and the long-in-the-works Arrested Development movie, Hurwitz has left the door open to doing an additional season if the initial 10 new episodes prove successful. Netflix has indicated that it would make all 10 new episodes available at the same time sometime in 2013 but has not set an exact premiere date yet.

And Mike, as cool as it would be that is never going to happen now. It's not as if "Veronica Mars" gained some huge following on DVD or something.

On the contrary, they're claiming that these episodes (Michael will appear in all of them, but the episodes will each apparently focus on one family member) are sort of a precursor to a movie. Given how long it took ANYTHING to happen, though, we have to be quite patient I would think.

Re: There is a god: Arrested Dev. to begin production I personally love Arrested Development but I was a little late to the party. I just watched all the episodes on Netflix about 2 years. It's hard for me to gauge how widespread the interest in this new season is. I'm 99% of people who have seen the first seasons loved it......but I still know a fair number of people who aren't familiar with the show.
