The premise: it's American Idol, except the judges have their backs turned, so they can hear the "raw talent" (or lack thereof) without seeing the contestants.

Maybe I shouldn't read between the lines, but when I see Christina Aguilera explaining the seemingly groundbreaking concept, I can't help but think what she really means is "Look, when you watch American Idol and you see this really ugly, fat person walk in there, with super ugly faces, jiggly fat and they're like so completely ugly, you can't help but laugh at them! I mean really laugh, like, laugh until you choke! But as you're laughing, you can't hear them sing and they might sing really well! So it doesn't matter if you look atrocious on the outside, if you sound beautiful on the inside, that's all that matters on The Voice: The Show for Ugly People".

If the finalists are all hot, the concept is a joke. If a bunch of homely looking people make it through, the show is saying "Look, the beautiful people are giving the ugly people a chance! And we're not even going to degrade them by putting paper bags over their heads! We're only turning our backs to them so we hide their ugliness!"

Also, Susan Boyle. She was not a raving beauty, and she placed 2nd on that show and is a huge success professionally. So, uh... yeah... that kind of makes this show pointless. But then again, it already was.

Record-low numbers for NBC, here we come!

NBC is just desperate. Go look at their most recent Monday ratings. They're like CW worthy. LOL.

Ouch! my girl is having a bad year

Cee Lo shouldn't have done this so soon after his first major non-Gnarls Barkley chart success.

Are they all going to be involved in the show after the first episode? I just don't get how they snagged Cee Lo, Christina and even Adam Levine.

Cee Lo has been limping on Fuck You all this time and a lot of that has to do with the support from Glee, Grammy's. Those two pushed the song a lot. But his other singles haven't fared that well. And it's not like he can headline a tour.

I don't know if Maroon 5 are on tour. Hands All Over hasn't been a success really, so any exposure will do for now.

Christina has nothing else to do. She takes forever to record an album and even then it's more likely it will be a bomb...

I don't see him having a big arena tour. He's not there yet. He can play small gigs. This can only help him establish himself. As I said Fuck You has been his only hit on this album. Most people don't even realized he's had a couple more singles released...

I don't know. It still seems beneath him. I'd rather see him touring the hell out of The Lady Killer in mid-sized venues than appearing on this kind of show.

I think it will help his career, it allows him to establish a persona outside of the music which is what it takes to sell albums nowadays for a non-country act.
