Eagle, you may have already mentioned this, but will you be adding a live counter of the number of players who've submitted an entry for each game, and a chart that shows the current average prediction for each film? This is something the old BOM players will be looking for.

Xiayun asked about this over in the dev forum.

Basically, you'll be able to see the number of players once an estimate is added (On the prediction page), and the average predictions once actuals are added (On the weekly results page).

We can certainly add those things to another page / part of the derby. The question is, where? My initial guess is that when the derby is awaiting actuals for a game you can't enter predictions for, replace the "Last Game" top 10 section on the main derby page with a "Current Game Average Prediction" section, as well as the number of players.

The above is just a suggestion, I'm certainly open to other options as well. Let me know what you think.

That would be a good start. It would be ideal I think if you could see the number of player submissions and the overall average predictions as they came in, from game opening to game close. I think the prediction page would be the best place to do this, perhaps in a section below where you enter your predictions. That's my 2 cents.

Also possible, but couldn't that give players a baseline to predict against? IE, couldn't players abuse that?

One of the more fun improvements I'm looking to make is the addition of player performance graphs to the forum. Maybe player performance charts that replace the output from the calculator.

I'd like you to be able to enter [derby]www.worldofkj.com/GxyZ7f2[/derby] and have it output a graph that shows your results over the last quarter, etc, right on the forum.

Yeah, that's my worry too, especially at the beginning the number of predictions will be small and possibly higher quality as a group than what BOM had. It may deter players from entering their predictions early.

I think we could update the number of players throughout the week as soon as the current week opens, and update the average predictions as soon as the deadline is passed.

Agreed - I kind of thought about that too. I think the way it is now is good.
