I mean, his only chance to get out of his legal mess is to push the trials past the election, win the election, and then dismiss the charges. Trump knows if he gets a fair trial he’s fucked. Trump always needs things to be unfair to succeed.

All his life he’s gotten away with shit. Not this time.

This is about to become a serious thing. There are A LOT of people who would support it.

He cant do anything about the state level charges. The GA charges are serious, serious business for him.

DC trial date is set for March 4th. Trump’s response is not a defense, but rather a call to impeach Biden. Dude’s so fucking guilty.

I guess they wanted to schedule it the day before Super Tuesday as a way to hurt his campaign, but it's probably just going to make him a bigger guarantee to dominate it.

Still one way or the other, it seems like he's simply not going to be allowed to be president regardless of how many people want to vote for him, much like how the government authority made people's decision for them on covid restrictions, they will now make their decision for them in the election, it's for their own good. It remains to be seen how many people end up realizing this is the actual "threat to democracy", not some jokers protesting at capitol building. I guess optimistically for the US sake, these election restrictions not allowing people to vote for a candidate could be seen as a temporary emergency response, and if it's an establishment Republican in 2028 they could lift them and let people vote for them, like lifting the covid restrictions eventually. Would Vivek be allowed in 2028 or would being an outsider with Trump-like views lead them to use the legal route to take him down? Hard to say.

I don’t think Trump should be given special privileges. A crime is a crime.

Speaking of crimes, looks like Arizona might be next. A fifth indictment is brewing over there.

These have all been obvious to non-MAGA bubbles for a while. I am sure it largely explains why DeSantis has been so hesitant to take on Trump directly. He likely thinks he won't have to and doesn't want to alienate his base

Even if all this only results in the mugshot memes it was totally worth it.

You could argue for some other countries like Canadas and Swedens that have different strengths and weaknesses, but the US has clearly been somewhere in the top group with all the other first world ones, I mean compare it to the messes in South America, Africa, Middle East, etc. or functional but asshoe countries like Russia and China, and you're definitely better off with the US.

The way things are going, you're definitely gonna be able to compare your lives to South America, Africa and Middle East.

The law and order crowd getting upset that people who ignore congressional subpoenas are hilarious.

Trump was just held liable for fraud. Just had it to the fire. He has no choice but to win the presidency. If he wasn’t running for president, he’d be seen as hitting rock bottom. As this dates back ten years, it is becoming obvious why he ran for president. Dude’s trying to avoid financial failure.

More are pleading guilty in Georgia. Hard to see Trump escaping this one, still shocked he is leading the polls by so much. I think it is all brand name

It is really looking like Trump is heading for some guilty verdicts. Will the Justice System have the balls to throw him in jail? I don’t think so. I think he is looking at a house arrest and being cut off from speaking out in public including on social media. I am calling it now. After being convicted guilty, he will claim him being under house arrest is the government taking away his first amendment rights. His supporters and defenders will do mental gymnastics to support this claim which will be heightened because he is not actually in jail so it won’t feel like he is a criminal.

Well, one very costly loss in the tune of $83.3 million ($88.3 million total) in the first case of the year.

He claims they'll appeal it, but appeals are hard to win (and costly to file) and there appears to be nothing to appeal because his lawyer really sucks and basically surrendered on any appeal grounds.

And Rudy going on TV to say Trump committed sexual assault not rape (........) sure doesn't help anything.

Wonder if Trump will stop attacking her now or go on another 37 post rant and get sued for more. His lawyer sucked, but he's the reason $5 million turned into $83 million.

Trump’s entire future rides on winning the election so I think he’ll keep lying and defaming thinking he will magic all away his troubles as presidebt

I've tried to stay away from politics since 2016-2021 exhausted me, but... are we really hurtling towards Trump vs. Biden again? Two guys with no foresight or care for their party, going for it because they can. I haven't followed Biden much but it seems like he's lucky he should get the full 4 years without a major health episode. Pushing for another 4 is a kind of swing that requires a big hit, a hit I don't think he will achieve in four years. And the alternative is... Trump.
