Figured this needed its own thread considering how wide ranging this topic is. So this thread is dedicated to all of the various legal issues happening to Trump right now, and maybe some from the past if that’s where the conversation goes. Right now he has:

The Classified Documents Investigation
The Tax Fraud Investigation
Overturning The 2020 Election Investigation
The January 6th Committee

And I think he still has a sexual harassment or assault lawsuit too?

I heard he hired a lawyer for potential charges in Georgia that has a success of lowering sentences. Not a good sign.

Trump filed for a special master in his search warrant case, but then the judge he filed with told him the legal request was not sufficient enough, giving him until Friday to redefine his legal reasoning. Also Thursday is when the DOJ has to file their redacted affidavit.

At this stage (and for a while now), it's kind of a 'no smoke without fire' situation. You just cannot be involved in so much dodgy/illegal shit without being guilty of at least some of it - but I'm sure he'll try to lawyer his way out of it as usual. It really would be good for the United States to set a precedence and have him serve jail time.

In an ideal world people’s reaction to getting hoaxed by Russiagate would be re-evaluating whether everything is as it seems in the current political/media environment rather than “Argh! Road runner got away again!”

Trump has lost a ton of civil suits in his day, so this aura of it all being a hoax is false to begin with. Now he has power in high places and a third of the nation willing to do what ever mental gymnastics to pretend there is nothing there. In fact on the whole Russiagate thing, it has recently come out that William Barr illegally hid important portions of the final summary on that whole situation.

At least I’m laughing. But I don’t give a shit. The official explanation is that he’s completely lost it, totally batshit crazy, and has gone of the deep end with the coherence of his recent truth social posts. I’m sure he rationalizes it somehow to himself, but he can’t admit he’s fundamentally wrong, he can’t let go of his bad assumptions. It’s too painful, like death. So he’s desperate, and it drives him crazy. Which makes him like most westerners, or perhaps humans. You think you’re aware, or you know shit, or want to understand it, but you’re still completely and totally unaware and understand absolutely nothing. You wouldn’t possibly say the things you say if you did. But whatever, life goes on. It may be against your nature to accept it, but then it will take time or force.

Trump got a special master for this legal issues in Florida, but I guess I don’t see how this helps Trump beyond just more delays which I guess does help him if he thinks he can run the clock out until he has more people in power to help him get out of his serious legal jam.

Every legal system is built on that sort of premise.

Edit: They are definitively built on a subjective morality since they vary across time and districts.

Judge Cannon now has ruled that her own special master that she selected is doing too much and now must scale back. Based off the previous appeal to the 11th Circuit, it is obvious the Cannon is not being able to be impartial in her opinion on someone she clearly politically supports.
