Not sure why anyone would be offended by Baker’s words, he’s obviously paraphrasing what the shooter told the investigators as his motive. Be mad at the shooter, and not at the spokesperson, what the shooter told the investigators as his motive. It seems like some of these cancellers have greater outrage for the spokesperson than the actual shooter, as several didn’t criticize the criminal (who they empathize more with) but rather just against the police spokesperson.

Imagine being a family member or friend of one of the eight people murdered and listening to that idiot say of the murderer who murdered your loved one, "it was a really bad day for him." Who cares if he was "only" describing how the murderer felt prior to going on a murder spree. No one cares about a murderer.
