OF course a govt can be in debt however the debt growth should be well below the GDP growth rate and the overall debt should be a small % of GDP.

Countries that spend to really high levels of debt (thinking it will help the economy) just end up screwing up everything in the long term.
What happens is that there a "day of reckoning"...
Severe austerity is put in place and everyone suffers.


So a modern country has to be in debt but debt can be manageable.

In many ways it is quite similar to the budget problems the average person faces.

Romney should get at least 50 more delegates than he needs. Probably 100+ more.

Okay, so on that whole budget thing, apparently William Pitt (the second or junior, the Prime Minister in the late eighteenth century) actually did fish out Britain from a budget problems, so I guess too much debt is too much and only benefits the banks at that point.

As I said govt has limits like normal people (of course not the same limits)

How anyone would think otherwise would be baffling.
