This is true of all speakers. You may remember a joke or two or a clever phrase from any speech but it's not like you can quote it days later. Seriously, think back on a graduation speech or any important speech. Can you recall much of MLKs speech except the "I have a dream" part? Any of his other speeches?
If you read the article, they say as much; they have to go back 50 years to JFK to find someone who was more quotable and memorable.

Re: Obama's Speeches Are Eloquent but Hard to Recall???
I find that if one listens to the thoughts and arguments rather than the evoked emotions, it is quite possible to remember what has been said; unless, of course, there is nothing said, which is not too seldom the case with public speeches.
"He is still a very eloquent, articulate speaker," Sorensen says. "He is clearly well informed on all matters of public policy, sometimes, frankly, a little too well informed. And as a result, some of the speeches are too complicated for typical citizens and very clear to university faculties and big newspaper editorial boards."
I like that part.

Yeah the title of the thread is not what I really meant to say...
I am saying Obama has a great talent to make a mountain out a mole hill. He really make you think so much is happening but really nothing much is going on and Washington is still the same.

Quote: That's just racist. I believe we have a great misunderstanding... (or maybe your joking) If you assume I was being racist, you are greatly mistaken. What I meant is Obama gives out a polished image that all is well but behind that image is a man that I think (my own opinion) is panicked and is not certain of what he is doing. So behind the polished image of a man with the suit or tuxedo is a man who is trying desperately to keep his towel on. The thing that gives Obama a "polished image" is the power of his words. His speeches I must admit, though seem to be full of hope and sound genuine. Now, I am not saying Obama is a terrible President but I think he needs to make it seem he is a man of action. This is because many men of words have come and gone, and we already have to many.

I bet he would have done much more if it depended only on him.

Huffington Post editor on the parts of Obama's speech that aren't about jobs: "Like dialogue in a porn movie. No matter how good they are, it's not why people are going to tune in."
