Pretty dead in here. So Obama's been taking some hits lately: 1. People are growing impatient with Afghanistan 2. Healthcare reform is going nowhere fast; so is Cap'n'Trade 3. Failed Chicago bid. Not relevant in the long term, but the utter failure shows poor judgement on the part of Obama staffers. Someone ought to get fired for that. 4. The SNL clip ripping Obama for doing nothing has been making rounds in the blogosphere. http://www.hulu.com/watch/99945/saturda ... ma-address On the positive side, the economy seems to be picking up. The unemployment rate should start to come down soon. So, what's next? |

He's had the most scrutinized start to a presidency in a long long time. He's doing fine. The economy will be fine. Healthcare will be fine. The war will be fine. |

People are too impatient. He came into office with a second Great Depression emerging, two wars, huge unemployment, and basically the country in the worst shape it's been in for generations thanks to 8 years of Bush rule. He's not going to solve all of that in nine months. |

Obama runs the risk of losing my vote depending on how he handles the Afghanistan situation going forward. He campaigned that we needed to focus on Afghanistan, and I think he's right as that country again stands on the brink of destabilization. We've done so much in Iraq, Pakistan is moving in the right direction, we can't afford to have Afghanistan regress now. We've done too much to stabilize this region, we can't let it devolve into another Taliban haven just because it's not a good move politically. I have no problem with him exploring every option, but if it's decided we need more troops there and that no other alternative offers the same success, then he needs to send the troops. |

What about George Bush and the 2000 election thievery accusations? That only lasted until he left office in 2009. |

9/11 blasted away pretty much any serious criticism of Bush for a few years. Even the Democrats mostly rubber stamped that asshole for a while. Obama won't have that luxury even if something horrible happened. |

Im not too impressed with his first year. The healthcare situation is going nowhere. Increasing government spending to get out of a recession has never worked and extended both Americas depression in the 30s and Japans in the 90s and itll make the debt further absurd. Afghanistan is effed up. China is doing better than the US and brokering deals in South America. I cant really think of one overly positive thing Obama has done. Closed Guantanamo... but torture is still rampant overseas |

Is it really true that Obama has already tied Bush in the amount of times he's gone golfing while in office? Kinda disappointing, not that golf is evil, but more of how we viewed Bush because of it. |

Just because he likes to golf instead of hang out at the ranch doesn't really mean anything. The evil in Bush golfing was where he said he wouldn't golf any more to show support for those who died in Iraq, and then he went ahead and kept golfing anyway, since his word is meaningless. |

Not that it matters much, but he did quit golfing in 2003. |

Whose "we"? Only fucking retards like Michael Moore got upset about the amount of "time off" Bush took; like the fucking U.S. President ever truly has "time off". |
