I know this was added to the credit card bill but I don't get it. Guns shouldn't be allowed on National park land, it will lead to just trouble. What will happens is stupid people will try to kill the protected animals on the land and it could end up killing animals and innocent people. Why do they guns on those lands? They brought up crime, but you know what crime is lower on national park land than anywhere else in the country. I am currently working at a National Park for this summer and every Park ranger I have talked to don't like it.

I do I see dangerous situations with people going out and trying to shoot animals and maybe a person getting killed by mistake.

You're right. Crime is lower on national parks. Probably because people are going there for non criminal purposes and there isn't anything of value to go after unlike in cities with banks and stores with money. My thought on this is why it was restricted to begin with. What was the point? People have a right to be able to protect themselves and I would think if I was camping in a park or hiking in a park or whatever then I'd want to be able to defend myself should the Unthinkable ever occur. That's all.

I don't agree with it but I think this is one of those things that will happen so rarely that I'm willing to let the gun rights nuts have thier little law. I mean I think it says something that only them and criminals are the ones who care for such things.

But if there is no crime what do you need to defend yourself against? This is especially true at a place like national battlefields where you can't camp and are just looking at the battle. As I said Park Rangers hate the idea because they see danger with people shooting the guns.

So hunting should be banned altogether?

On National park land it should because the animals there are protected.

So this one time...(not) at band camp...but rather at my highschool...we were in English class and one of the few students (small class) came in very late. No one ever came in late to that class. It was a great class, and it was AP, so there was no reason to skip it. :-) Anyways, he came in late and everyone eye-balled him and asked why he came in late. He started laughing. He said that he had gym class the period before and was out back behind the school doing the flying squirrel (that's whan you get up on a platform and jump and catch a trapeez hanging from a tree and swing around in the trees behind the school. I think it is supposed to be about trusting whoever is belaying you). Anyways, the gym class was out back behind the school and this super old guy (his words, not mine) stumbles upon them with his rifle aimed at them and says "Well damn, I guess we're not in Marlborough anymore." :funny:

On National park land it should because the animals there are protected.

If the animals are protected, then they can't be hunted. What makes you think that people would start trying to shoot animals then?

Dumb rednecks in the south that is why. I just see it being a major headache for Park Rangers.

*sarcasm*

Well, if that's your concern, maybe we should make a law preventing dumb rednecks from the south from entering national parks?

no but those are the people who cause trouble and if they think they can bring guns into the parks they will. I am not saying these are the majority of people either but this small minority just causes me concern. I suppose that gangs in cities like Boston (Adams historical Site, Bunker Hill) those sites in NY and other major cities could cause the same problems.

most of those people don't fucking go to state parks. if they go hunting, they go hunting in the fucking woods where it is allowed because they don't want to lose their hunting license. time and time again according to you the south seems to be this place full of a bunch of idiots that can't tell their ass from their foot.

That is partly because I live in the south and I see a lot of those people. It is really bad it in some parts of Tennessee.

I could think about when Jedi mentioned Tennessee was pronouncing Tennessee in my most thickest southern accent I could come up with.

Now you try!
