It's a serious question, I sometimes wonder. What do you think they'd have done differently?

With questions like these I always think of the US general asked if the US have done a good job in post-war Germany and he replied ask me in 20 years

No, and I'll go a step further and say McCain wouldn't be either.

What would you have had Obama do differently that you think Hillary would have done?

The obvious answer against Hillary is that she is indebted to many of the same people who were involved with her husband, and many of those people played a role in this country being in the mess it is, so why would we want them fixing it?

Some still are, as Obama has some people from the Clinton era working with him, but not all of Clinton's minions are bad, so it's my hope that since Obama wasn't indebted he was thus able to pick and choose the best of the best from those, which in my mind, gives him an obvious advantage.

Maybe, she's no-nonsense.

It's hard to be afraid of Obama, he's so damn affable. I wanted to hug him during his CA townhall today. :wub2:

Jon Stewart on the Daily Show yesterday, after showing a clip of Obama saying he was mad, responded something like this:

"That's mad? That's your mad voice? That's when you're mad?" (pause) "Have you been mad at us all along?"

Yep, that's my take. I still generally approve of Obama's policies for the most part, but I will admit to having moments of "Buyer's remorse" lately where I wonder if Hillary would be better just because of experience and ruthlessness.

But then I remember how bad her campaign was and it goes away. ;)

Maybe

My take on the Dem race was that Obama always stood a much better chance of winning than Hil and the priority to guarantee the Dems in office outweighed the any difference between the two, considering their similar platforms. With that said there's no denying he was the more inexperienced and bigger question mark and probably overall less suited candidate, who won through his rock star charisma and orating skills, along with campaign organizing supermacy (which can be seen as a good sign for running a presidency but by all means can't be counted on as an end-all signifier). So while I'm glad things went the way they did, I wouldn't be *shocked* if within a year or two people start to think hmm we kind of voted this guy in on his speaking skills and just hoped for the best

Who knows. Still way too early to tell, and even after Obama is out of office, it'd be impossible to really know.

I think Obama is doing fine. Did I expect more right now? Perhaps, but again, sooooo early. It's been 3 months. You can't just make things go right like that. Even though I prefered Clinton, there have been a few times after the election I was glad Obama ended up being the DEM nominee and winning the election. But at the same time, the uncertainty factor comes into play for me. Does he know what he's really doing (at least the effects of what he's doing), and whatnot. Same goes for Biden who I wouldn't like to see stepping in at any time, because while he does have the experience, I think he'd be shit at actually executing anything. Still think he was a stupid safe pick for Obama. If not Hillary, then at least he could have went with Bayh instead of Biden. Early, still too early to say much more right now I feel.

Still would have prefered the Clinton/Obama ticket, and then have Obama run for office in 2012/2016 though. And wouldn't have included Biden at all. So that leaves Sec. of State open, not sure who I would have prefered there right now.

Speak for yourself; the vast majority of people have a much harder time taking Hilldog seriously than they do Obama. Hillarys no nonsense attitude is a joke to most by now.

Obama's ruling by public opinion poll - - he blows with the wind...

What public opinion poll? He's still in the high 60s, which is better than most Presidents get when they start off.

I'm surprised you weren't aware that public opinion polls are conducted on other subjects than presidential popularity - - you struck me as more informed than that...

Anyone watch the President on Leno last night....saw in Yahoo, they are making a big deal of this?
Also, how did he hold up in general....going to try to watch when I have time.

>>>>> Appearing on "The Tonight Show" Thursday, the president told host Jay Leno he'd been practicing at the White House's bowling alley but wasn't happy with his score of 129. Then he remarked: "It was like the Special Olympics or something."

*************

This I find very interesting as this is how their top people want to deflect it, yes it might have just been an off-hand comment ...but...it is a joke as the president???/most people think this way.... and...if he was making fun of his bowling abilities.... then.... he is also making fun of the others in the same way....

>>>>> Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton told reporters traveling with Obama that the president's offhand remark was not meant to disparage the Special Olympics, only to poke some fun at the commander in chief's bowling skills.

In other words, you have no links and no support for your statement.
