why was the photo ban there? i read something about it not actually being a ban but required family permission before showing it.

You still need family permission but the ban started when George I took the US to war.

This is good. The photographing should never have been restricted anyway.

This will help when we start seeing the number of KIA in Afghanistan begin to creep on up. They must have a pool on when the number will eventually get to 1000 dead while we continue to chase a dead man and interfere with the integrity of another country.

Integrity? Dude, it's Pakistan. They're probably secretly begging us to go in and clean the north up for them, but they can't say that publicly, it'd look pathetic.
