Was that thing always there or is it something new from Obama.......I cant remember that I saw media of another President giving a media conference with that "The office of the president elect" sign in front of him. |

Yeah, this has come up before, but actually the law was set up years ago to provide funding for an office and staff and such for the President elect to help with the transition. I think mainly in the past newly elected guys just waited around and didn't do press conferences and so on, so perhaps there never was a need for such a thing. |

I think we are just not used to it since 4 years ago, Bush remains in office so there was no President Elect/ President difference. |
