OK. What's he going to do last minute in order to sabotage Obama's first term? Start another war? Pass drilling rights in all our national parks? Piss off a country with nuclear capabilities? Give SUV drivers a tax cut? Define marriage on the federal constitutional level? Ruin the economy even further by setting up barriers that cannot be reversed quickly by incoming president?

What's it gonna be? There's still plenty of time for Bush to 'welcome' with some special gifts the new pres.

Hmm...he could just force a conflict with Iran without ever invading, leaving Obama to possibly have to initiate another Bush war.

From the NY Times: "So Little Time, So Much Damage"

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/04/opini ... xprod=digg

President Bush’s aides have been scrambling to change rules and regulations on the environment, civil liberties and abortion rights, among others — few for the good. Most presidents put on a last-minute policy stamp, but in Mr. Bush’s case it is more like a wrecking ball. We fear it could take months, or years, for the next president to identify and then undo all of the damage.

Here is a look — by no means comprehensive — at some of Mr. Bush’s recent parting gifts and those we fear are yet to come.

Just two and a half more months. Maybe we'll get a big fat Christmas present in the form of Bush somehow managing to not screw anything up by a ridiculous amount within that time frame.

Woops! Here comes one now:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/30/washi ... ml?_r=1&em

Quote:
Bush Aides Rush to Enact a Rule Obama Opposes

...WASHINGTON — The Labor Department is racing to complete a new rule, strenuously opposed by President-elect Barack Obama, that would make it much harder for the government to regulate toxic substances and hazardous chemicals to which workers are exposed on the job.

The rule, which has strong support from business groups, says that in assessing the risk from a particular substance, federal agencies should gather and analyze “industry-by-industry evidence” of employees’ exposure to it during their working lives. The proposal would, in many cases, add a step to the lengthy process of developing standards to protect workers’ health.

Public health officials and labor unions said the rule would delay needed protections for workers, resulting in additional deaths and illnesses...

Sounds like typical nefariousness that the admin has been up to all these years and that pseudo-libertarians would rush to defend because they are closeted neo-cons.
