So the Gay Marriage ballot measures are getting essentially zero coverage...and it's not like CA and FL are insignificant places.

So first us homosexuals are the only people in the country that the nation thinks they have the right to vote on our (and only our) liberties on, they weren't banning some concept that applies to everyone, they're voting explicitly on the rights of another group. Then they take away those liberties, and no one bothers to comment. Essentially zero coverage on the national outlets.

This just means you need to wait a bit longer or move to another state. Simple as that.

Well, there really should be no waiting or moving to be able to do what you should be able to do from the beginning.

If there's a silver lining, it's that gay marriage did better than it has ever done on a ballot initiative. It WILL get back on the ballot again and I'd expect the outcome to be different this time.

There's your answer. The movement to make gay marriage part of the norm will succeed eventually regardless of things like Prop 8 or other states amendments.

In the end, you can't always rely on a majority of people to decide what's right. When it comes down to an individuals civil rights being denied, as is the case here, it must eventually be decided on by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Until the US Supreme Court rules on the issue, it remains in the hands of the people.

Yet 51% voted YES on Prop 8

Even if we consider that every single republican voted YES (which i highly doubt), that still leaves us with a large percentage of liberals who voted Yes as well. Doesn't this highlight the fact more that while more liberals in general favor homosexuality, to pass a statement saying republicans are all gay hating commies while liberals are not, a bit of a wrong statement?

What you're missing is that not everyone who voted for Obama is "liberal." Not everyone who does not identify as Republican is "liberal."

That's not to say that there aren't liberals who are homophobes, but you can't define it from these numbers.

This should give you all that you need. For instance, 22% of self-described liberals voted for proposition 8, along with 85% of self-described conservatives and 47% of moderates.

Of course you know a majority of tives are gonna vote for it. Blame the mods and libs who voted for it. They are the problem if you want to place blame. Be sure though with patience you'll get what you want in time.
