Not that it wasn't a foregone conclusion for some time now, but with Ohio and Iowa swinging Obama's way, it's all over.

Congratulations to newly elected president Barack Obama. Here's to the next 8 years of healthy partisan bickering. Maybe Republican House in 2010?

The GOP has been reduced to a fundamentalist rump, they will have more then just 2 years in the wilderness before crawling back to the centre. If all the power that remains is on the far right why expect them to suddenly develop an electable platform in 2 years?

The last GOP seats been lost in the North East reminds me of the Tory wipe out in Scotland and Wales in 1997, this is the GOP's 1997.

Which is a lesson for Obama not to go to far to the left. Which is why I think Universal healthcare ain't happening.

I can't imagine Obama goes far left; despite what the GOP says he is clearly not the most liberal senator.

Obama is still pretty conservative compared to most of the western world. I think he's even to the right of Harper.

From the debates he's actually quite far right on some issues in comparison to harper... that's sad and yet quite a spot of pride for us I guess lol.

Congrats President Barack Obama! I know Bush and his circle have left the country in a bad state, but I also know you have the ability to rise and be one of the best ever. Enjoy the night! :2thumbsup:

No coincidence Obama's election comes in the same year The Dark Knight is the biggest movie.

OMG, I just realized when Dubya got elected Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas topped the year. That's brilliant on so many levels. I mean he even kind of looks like him.
