Post Will people be dissapointed with Obama as president?
Lets face it.....Obamas 4 years will be a big clean up

-Get out of Iraq
-Handle Afghanistan
-Rescue the US-Economy
-Fight against an enourmous debt problem
-Fix Health care
-Fix image of US in the world
-Have an answer for Russia and China
-Handle Iran
-Install a mentality of save money instead of living from debt and on from the credit card

(say all thank you to Mr. Bush)

I fear he will have to do some very unpopular moves......and then Reps will maybe try it again with the insans Palin in 2012.

Do you think Obama can handle it? Or at least part of it?

Everything he promises only happens if the House and Senate approve it and that's not going to happen.. Obama has technically 1 shot at this and if he doesn't deliver on his promises, he's gone in 2012 with Hillary Clinton vs Sarah Palin headlining it..

If you can so much as muster up the will to pull your head out of Obama's ass for 1 minute and give rational thought to the question in this thread posed, you'd see there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of even a fraction of these promises being kept.. We get it Chip.. Your voting for Obama.. That's cool, but for a moment, get real..

To be fair, if McCain won he would have the same problems to face, and he'd probably get even less of it fixed. No one is gonna be able to do everything that needs to be done in four years.

Whether you will be disappointed depends on whether you think this is the dawn of a grand new liberal era. If so then I believe you will be. I expect Obama to govern in a relatively centrist way, with a few liberal flourishes but nothing like what people are probably hoping for on the activist left.

I expect him to have a modestly successful and fairly boring presidency which would be a great improvement over the colossal clusterfuck of the last 8 years.

He's no god. He won't be able to accomplish everything. No one could, and there will always be people attacking him (look how much they are attacking him now!)

Anyone who thinks electing one person will solve every problem in the world is fooling themselves.

He'll do much better than McCain would do, though.

Talk about bias... considering you have no way of proving that at this point yet you make the claim anyhow, proof be damned.

Nobody can clean up after Bush, at least not in one term. However the world so clearly wants us to elect him that we have a better start with our image abroad.

Obama's main strength will be in exercising the power of veto along with any boost from the Congressional elections, and then we'll see what else he can do.

Why?? Elaborate?? :-k I'm in it for who I feel is best candidate to protect our Country if ever attacked by Terrorist again by someone who's been there, done that, someone with infinite more experience.. That's a pretty damn good reason to me and more logical than the superficial reasons you pointed out why you want Obama which is because he has "Swagger" and can bump fists with the best of them..

You think you're gonna be protected someone who crashes planes and can't even keep from not getting captured!!!

America would get captured and tortured with him in office.

McCain is senile, he's been in steep decline all year. Even if I totally agreed with his positions I wouldn't want that finger on the button.

The "How do you know" argument is preposterously stupid, which is why it's being made by McCain supporters. None of us can predict the future, so we don't really know anything. But we do have a few things to go on.

Both men have a record of party loyalty with some bipartisanship. Obama, however, has a much better temperament and has demonstrated a tremendous amount of leadership the past two years. McCain has been erratic, angry, and nasty, particularly when things haven't gone his way.

We have their policy proposals. All we can do is look at what's on paper, since neither man has any executive experience. And what's on Obama's paper is a lot better than what's on McCain's.

Plus, either man will have a Dem controlled Congress to work with. This means he gets a lot more done than McCain with the same Congress. Under certain circumstances, that's obviously a bad thing. But in this case, I think it's to Obama's advantage. Cleaning up after 8 years of Bush requires action, not a stalemate in Congress.
