I assume those were the guys he played before becoming a 'serious director'. But I only recognize the one in leather, so I dont really know what just happened. I had no idea Ron Howard was so thin.

My apologies... I forgot to put in a warning for those under the age of 16, who might be confused by cultural references from before the year 2000.
I guess I better just consider myself lucky I didn't refer to anything from ancient history - - like WWII or somethin'...

I'm not under 16, I just didnt grow up watching terrible TV. That, plus Ron Howard is a fool so I've made no effort to find out how he became famous. :O

I can't argue with your opinion on the quality of the two TV series, though I was a fan of both, especially The Andy Griffith Show co-starring the incomparable Don Knotts - - but I can't imagine there are many people over a certain age who would argue that they are not cornerstones of 20th century American media created self-image.
The effect this spot will have on older voters should not be underestimated...

I saw it last night. I like it. What struck me was the appearance by Andy Griffith after reading so many people on the Net talk about McCain in reference to taking a nap and watching Matlock.

I thought Happy Days was a great show. Henry Winkler was great as The Fonz.
